Anagram Game
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to guide the Little Ash Tree through the forest to the Big Tournament. Along the way the Little Ash Tree encounters six phrases (in capital letters) which are anagrams of famous skaters, except that one letter is missing. For instance (this example is not part of the puzzle)
I LOST JOKES
is an anagram for ELVIS STOJKO, with the letter V missing. Collect the six missing letters and rearrange them for the password (a two word phrase).
Once upon a time all the trees in the wood got together to decide who would represent the forest in the Big Tournament. After much debate among many deserving trees, finally they selected the Little Ash Tree. She was so happy to be the
CHOSEN ASH.
The Little Ash Tree was very confident that she would chalk up the victory at the Big Tournament. She told her best friend, Lee, "Don't worry about me upholding the honor of the forest, I'm pretty sure that I'll
CHALK WIN, LEE."
So the Little Ash Tree started on her way, but before long she came upon a fork in the road and she didn't know which way to go. Just then she spied two forest elves standing nearby. I'll ask them, thought the Little Ash Tree. "Which way should I go to get to the Big Tournament?" she asked the elves. But the first elf just laughed and said, mockingly,
"ASK A RUSTY NAIL."
And the second elf just laughed and said,
"HA HAH, GUESS!"
Seeing that she would get no help from the elves, the Little Ash Tree picked up a flower. "If there are an even number of petals on this flower I'll go to the right; if it's odd, I'll go left," she said to herself. "Let's see now, even or odd." But before she could start counting, around the bend came a ferocious-looking woodcutter. The woodcutter had a terrible axe, all filigreed in the Danish style. To the frightened little tree it looked like an
UGLY DANIE AXE.
The little tree tried to hide, but the Woodcutter turned to her with a friendly wink and said, "Even or Odd, Right or Left?
GO EVEN, 'EL SPUNKY'."
So with this good advice the Little Ash Tree followed the road and eventually, after many further adventures, arrived at the gates of the tournament. A lady was standing before the gate.
"Hi, Little Ash Tree, I am pleased to meet you at last," said the lady. "My name is Mira, and I am the guardian of the gate. I will let you in if you say the password."
