So if the 3t wasn't downgraded, he would've scored in the +83 range with two mistakes: hand down on the quad and two hands down on the 3a.:scratch:ch:

That just makes me really mad. Honestly, I remember thinking I'd seriously put Joubert ahead of Lambiel. I know Joubert fell, but (Lambiel was close to falling on that axel) and all of Joubert's other jumps were gorgeous. I'm tired of skaters getting a break with all kinds of mistakes.

Stéphane scored an enormous amount of points with a program where he nearly fell (3A) and put his hand down. There is nothing artistic about that. I also never thought that the short program is anywhere near his long program concerning artistry and choreography. He hasn't had superior results with this program anyway - remember GPF where he was behind Takahashi? I still think that this program is watered-down choreography from his long to different music.

I am a big fan, but Stéphane got good scores - maybe Joubert was a bit overscored here but not too much. Stéphane also gets sensational scores with impressive mistakes, anyone remember his first two competitions? He still came in 3rd and 2nd with programs that from a technical standpoint would have earned him the 6th place in the Junior Grand Prix Final. In contrast to Jeff Buttle (whose PCS went down quickly after falling all over the place) he wasn't really punished for a dismal early season that ended with a victory over Daisuke Takahashi at the GPF, who was cleaner in his long program.

I love Stéphane's skating, really love it. But in my opinion he is not someone who should complain about being underscored - I think he tends to be overscored. There is nothing artistic about doubling your jumps (he tends to do that in the second half of his program), stumbling out off them, falling on your Triple Axel for a zillion times.

Joubert got the vocal deduction, Stéphane a jump downgraded, Johnny the first edge call of his career and Verner lower levels on spins and steps than at Europeans. So please Stéphane, stop bitching.

yes the scoring been strange and sometimes questionable, but that shouldn't be a reason to complain...i love stephane and johnny so i hope they skate well so they don't incur any deductions...

Last Night Tracey Wilson Said during the broadcast that the Specialists would have to check the landining of the triple toe. I twas underrotated. I think he was overmarked in his PCS....way too slow and I didn't see ant spectacular transitions etc...when compared to Buttle who doesn't stop moving .

About Joubert's music issue
http://www.leparisien.fr/home/sports/actu/articles/JOUBERT-VICTIME-DE-SA-MUSIQUE_296740459

There is a quote where Gailhaguet said that Fabio Bianchetti told him that he had made a mistake but he couldn't fix it now, but then there is quote bu Bianchetti who says that he is not responsable on how Joubert could have been judged in SC and Europeans.

The article hints that the Men event has an anti-european front considering the technical caller is american and she was in the mix of the SLC 2002 ice dance scandal.

Lambiel

"Until now, I have never complained about my marks, but here I have to question the objectivity of the judges"

"I don't understand why the judges do not reward taking risks (talking about his in-between elements and that very few skaters do a quad). I have the impression that I always need to do more than the rest to get the same results, and that makes me feel bad!"

This is very interesting. I've always felt the quite opposite. I agree with you Medusa despite that I myself like him very much, too. But I guess different folks have different opinions.

Were Mao's difficult steps going into 3A ever rewarded last season when she failed to land it cleanly? No, never.

I wish the humble Takahashi, who claims to be a "fan" of Lambiel and was worried about competing with him here, could have at least this level of self-assurance, if not that of Joubert. Then he could have been better off managing his nerves.
