Traveling to Australia may be painful though. Far and expensive for everybody except australian skaters.

Oh, boo fricking hoo, poor babies. Never mind that to compete internationally the Australian skaters have to go through this pain every season for just about every comp. 14 hours minimum to the US, 9 hours minimum to Japan, 22 hours minimum to Europe, but of course we should pander to the precious European and American feds, we can't possibly ask them to put in some travel time but we'll flog the little country skaters all season long! :rolleye:

And frankly European skaters currently benefit from having a hugely disproportionate number of ISU accredited events at all levels IMO.

Agreed. And it's not like the travel time in Europe is massive. If you're a little European country skater, you can go to two Senior Bs a season comfortably and all you have to do is travel a little way.

This is why i suggested North America (which would make it nicier for a bunch of american and canadian skaters) and Japan or something there, which would be nice for japanese/chinese/korean skaters.

Oh of course! We have to make it nice for the big country skaters. After all, the world revolves around them, why should be bother expanding into new territories, why should we give the little countries a chance to promote the sport, after all, we have to make it nice for the big countries?

:rolleye:

Imho, if they wanna expand the fanbase, move around senior GPs, do not mess up and make it more expensive for juniors, who may not always have funding to travel so far away. Senior GP attracts way more people, and senior skaters usually can handle with more ease the associated traveling expenses.

Yeah, sure. And if they did, you'd be whinging about making the precious big country feds travel for that, too.
