Dose Anyone Remember "The Avengers" TV Show?

As a teen, I simply loved the Avengers. My favorite episodes were the ones with Mrs. Peel (Diana Rigg). I always wanted to drive an MG like Mrs. Peel. I recently purchased some Videos of the Avengers with some of the early episodes with Honor Blackman. They were interesting, but I must say I liked Mrs. Peel better. I did not know Steed had so many partners. Can anyone guess how many he had altogether?

Absolutely! My dad thought Diana Rigg was the hottest babe on television. Do people remember seeing Diana Rigg as the evil, control-freak mother on a PBS "Mystery" program in the mid-'90s? I forget the title, but she was great in it.

Yes we remember the TV show, but does anyone remember the closing song? I think it was by Tom Jones. Sometimes the song goes through my head but I don't remember the words and it drives me nuts.

ladskater you asked if anyone knew how many partners John Steed had; I thought it was six but couldn't remember exact details of character and actor.

Stuff like this drives me to distraction, like the date of the Battle of Thermoloplae, I can never remember that either.

* Elizabeth Shepherd, a successful stage actress, was originally signed for the Emma Peel role. She filmed one complete episode and part of another and was then fired. Neither episode was ever aired.

Yes I love having facts at my fingertips, just a couple of keystrokes away.

When I think of all the information I looked up in the last several months, in the past I would have needed at least 10 to 12 reference books, several calls to the Chicago Tribune and hours and hours of look-up time.

I must have save a forest and a half by now, not to mention the wiildlife dependant on it.

And that ain't a bad thing!
