It'd be one thing if she were eating a snack bar or an apple or something, but she's got a plate AND a spoon/fork on the ice!
(Also, I'm glad to see her eating...I know I was (probably unnecessarily) worried about her weight after Nationals.)

I understand being worried about her weight but I think it's really just because she's been growing taller for now... she is going to have to gain a few kilos probably to look totally 'healthy' at her new height, but obviously she's probably not going to gain them overnight. I wouldn't be surprised if she looks a little 'fuller' next season

Sadly nothing new to report today...On a completely unrelated note, I've been watching the BBC's "War & Peace" miniseries, and I was reminded again that Lena seems like she'd be a PERFECT fit for the character of Natasha. Not sure she'd be able to capture that in a skating program, but maybe one day, when she becomes an actress...

Lena looks a lot older/more mature when she's not smiling (like the photo above), but she totally looks like the fun-loving brat she is in photos like this. :agree: I love these photos more than the supermodel-y ones where she's posing.

Overall, nothing really new. Some thoughts from me:
1) I have no idea what Lena is talking about when she is talking about her "boat." Maybe the angel costume?
2) It's cool that she's designing her own costumes! :agree:
3) I think it's cute that Inna tells her "go to work" or something when she sends her off to skate. Perhaps the fact that Lena thinks of skating as a "job" helps her be consistent. It's something she's supposed to do, not some hobby or something.
4) She gave a very diplomatic answer about why she was upset at Europeans. Yes, I think she does leave everything out on the ice, but I do think she was a bit frustrated too--and quite justifiably.
5) I thought it was funny that they asked the question about the "normal and adequate boy" but I knew Lena would say no!

I remember being dissatisfied with her behaviour during Euro championships as she seemed so grumpy and playing with phone like a brat but now in hindsight it seems understandable as she was not really worse than Medvedeva and because she's very ambitious

Novogorsk is an elite training compound in an elite neighborhood. It is close to the airport, has great funding due to the whole "Russia is a sport nation" fever, and is very large so athletes have good access to equipment, training halls, etc.

About payments... well, the skater has to pay for these things everywhere. CSKA is cheaper but if she can afford Novogorsk then why not?
Also, the FFKKR (Rus. fed.) is involved in the preperation for worlds so I'm not exavtly sure how the money flows there.

By the way if you go to maps.yandex.ru and type in "novogorsk", it will take you to the training center. You can then go to the bot left of your screen and see "2 peices of paper stacked onto each other" icon. Those are layes between blueprint and sattelite. You also have panoramas, that is the adjacent binocular icon. It's basically google street view. You can definitely see for yourself that it's and elite neighborhood. (for Russia's standards)

Plushenko himself said that it's probably the best place to train in Russia.

They are close to the same age and Annabelle is a competitive skater. Also Annabelle speaks English, Russian, and French, which would make it easy for her to communicate with a cross section of skaters. So their closeness likeness is not indicative of the amount of time Lena has spent with Morozov, but instead just grew over time by coming across each other over the years.

Annabelle and Morozov was there to prepare for French Juniors. There also was other skaters with them like Brooke Adler. So Lena, i think, just take an opportunity to improve her programms

Actually I know all about Novogorsk because I also follow the Russian rhythmic gymnasts (who train and live there).
