I posted this on another thread but thought it deservied it's own

Check out this completely backward takeoff of a 3Lz 3T by Evan Lysacek.

Wow he is totally backward on takeoff and totaly rotated on landing.

Oh yea, and totaly outside edge....

and he is 6' 2" to boot.
Wow!

 Remember, though, that this is a Lutz. The Lutz is the one jump that can't really be pre-rotated. Lysacek's triple Axel on the other hand has drawn a lot of criticism for pre-rotation.

To respond to the thread title - Yes, it could actually be cleaner.

He doesn't have a deep outside edge on his Lutz takeoff.

It's a great jump combination as it is, though.

OK maybe, but that would up the GOE in my mind.

What I meant by clean is that there is no question that it is an outside edge.with
no reason to think about giving it an e, <, or !

Ok, but the majority of the men do Lutzes that are completely clean. In this i don't think Evan is alone.

Mathman,

I would disagree here. Check out Plushenko's Lutz toe-picking. Looks to me like he is clearly prerotating 1/4.
