Well, if she had to have it done, this was definitely the best time to do it. Get well soon and don't get back on the ice before you're completely healed. I have never heard of an abdominal cyst but, if it's deep enough to effect her muscles, her recovery could take a while.

Best wishes to Gabby for a speedy recovery. My niece had a similar situation and it was very painful
before her surgery. She recovered well enough in 4 weeks to resume her training for the marathon.

Poor Gabby! I had one of those and it felt like my bellybutton was splitting open. It took almost 6 months to recover from the surgery

Ouch. But, this is the best time of year for it to happen. She is a tough cookie and will overcome this in due course. Best wishes for recovery, Gabby.
