Here are the the links to the current JGP point standings in 3 of the 4 disciplines after the first two events (pairs kicks off next week in Mexico City). The top eight in each discipline will qualify for the JGP Final in Goyang City, South Korea, December 10-14, 2008.

LADIES: http://www.isufs.org/events/jgp2008/jgpsladies.htm

MEN: http://www.isufs.org/events/jgp2008/jgpsmen.htm

PAIRS: http://www.isufs.org/events/jgp2008/jgpspairs.htm

DANCE: http://www.isufs.org/events/jgp2008/jgpsdance.htm

Some of the skaters'/teams' second half assignments (Spain, Belarus, South Africa and Great Britain) are likely still provisional and may change in the weeks ahead based on the results from the first four JGPs.

Thank you Sylvia. This will make it easy to refer to when needed.

A few notes:

I presume Niita Mickhailov's 3 entries is a typo.

Except for Brezina, no one else has completed 2 assignments.

The Hubbells get 2 and Tibbet/Brubaker get only one unless they do perform well in Czechoslovakia. If not, Masumoto/Mays ready to jump in Czech.

Tibbetts/Brubaker have been provisionally assigned to Madrid (#5). The two new U.S. dance teams of Gilles/Donohue and Wingle/McKernan are currently assigned to Ostrava, Czech Republic (#4). Matsumoto/Mays currently are the only U.S. substitute dance team listed without an assignment.

Ivan Bariev will be in Ostrava, he will probably replace Nikita.
Thanks for the heads up, sisinka!

Chock/Zuerlein, who won gold in Merano, haven't been listed for a second assignment as yet.

I've heard unofficially they may be assigned to GBR. We shall have to wait and see...

(referring to Chock and Zuerlein)

Could it be that the USFS wants to ensure that C/Z get to the Finals because GBR looks less competitive for them?.

Considering the high score C/Z set in Merano, I don't think USFS is worried about C/Z making the final. They made the final last year when Samuelson/Bates, Gorshkova/Butikov, Crone/Poirier and Monko/Tkachenko were competing. So far, the competition hasn't been all that formidable. Riazanova/Guerreiro is the top returning Russian team, and they weren't awe-inspiring in Merano---CZ beat them in all three segments of the competition. R/G will no doubt improve for Madrid, but C/Z won't be meeting them there.

The other seasoned Russian team is Monko/Khaliavin, who compete in Ostrava and Capetown (where they are likely to face the Hubbells).

are theses assignments provisional?

So far we have:

Madrid: Maia SHIBUTANI / Alex SHIBUTANI
Rachel TIBBETTS / Collin BRUBAKER

Gomel: Sara BAILEY / Kyle HERRING
Isabella CANNUSCIO / Ian LORELLO

Cape Town: Piper GILLES / Zachary DONAHUE
Madison HUBBELL / Keiffer HUBBELL

Sheffield: Madison CHOCK / Greg ZUERLEIN
and either Elyse MATSUMOTO / Patrick MAYS or Shannon WINGLE / Timothy McKERNAN
The dance assignments for Madrid and Gomel are already set. If you click on the Dance standings link above, you'll see that Tibbetts/Brubaker are provisionally assigned to Sheffield, along with Chock/Zuerlein. Wingle/McKernan may still have a shot at getting Sheffield as a 2nd assignment, particularly if you factor in how well they skated after their last place finish in the CD (plus Shpilband co-coaches both C/Z and W/M) and depending on how Tibbetts/Brubaker perform in Madrid next week (if USFS decides to wait for their results there before assigning the final dance spot).
