Ellie Kawamura did well! Just .11 out of 2nd. Hope she rocks the long, I love her tango.
I think it's definitely my favorite of her long programs
I hope she pulls up, too...I really want to see her at the JGPF~

Shibutanis retain their lead
Yuzuru just won the men's event with over 200 points!
Yuzuru is soooo good. How amazing is it for a kid not yet 15 to be skating like he is, and to get such great results? I really hope Eurosport will show Junior Worlds again so that I don't have to resort to Youtube vids.WOW! Go Yuzuru! Over 200!!
That's awesome...he just keeps improving. I really hope someone will post the videos from this event online.
I wonder if both Hanyu and the Shibutanis will move up to senior next season. It makes sense in a post-Olympic year, though the Japanese men's field and the US dance field are very crowded. But in both cases I think we're looking at skaters who could challenge for podium placements at major events within a few years. So happy for Yuzuru and Maia / Alex See you guys in JGPF :agree:
The young generation makes it all so exciting They'll rock in Sochi, I'm sure.
In the protocols for the FD, the Shibutanis have two elements that were not awarded any points. I know one of them is the optional lift, but what's Sp+TRANS and why was it given 0.00?
Convincing win for the Shibutanis! Seems like they are going to win everything in sight this season. How many more seasons are they juniors?
In addition to having an optional, additional lift, dance teams can also have extra twizzles and another spin. Only the first one is called and given a score by the tech panel. The 2nd spin would be considered a transitional element.I'm confused by this as well. It seems like their final spin didn't receive any points?
It is transitional and the judges do take it into consideration when marking PCS.Not sure what TRANS means, either (transitions/linking footwork? Not sure why that wouldn't be part of the PCS, though).
Each tech caller is a little different. Whoever was at Lake Placid just didn't call it as a transitional element, but the judges would still treat it the same way (as part of the PCS).What's even more baffling is that that element wasn't even included on the Lake Placid protocol.
I wouldn't be surprised to see them move up to Senior nationally next year, but I think they may stay Juniors internationally. Typically, that's how USFS teams do it. The current teams on the GP circuit include Belbin/Agosto, Chock/Zuerlein, Davis/White, Summersett/Gilles, Navarro/Bommentre, Hubbell/Hubbell, Samuelson/Bates.I would assume this is their last junior season. Maia will be of age for senior Worlds next year, so they should be moving up.
Ladies free results:I am waiting on the Ladies results. It has to be done by now...

Kristine Musademba had a really bad competition and finished 10th, this means she is out of GPFs.
