They should have some exhibition slots for a people's choice awards. Johnny would take it in a landslide.
Agreed with some who have expressed frustration with judging and its politics and nonsense. It is the judging that ruins such a beautiful sport. I think there should be multiple medals and events (have said this before and there have been other threads many times in the past lamenting this, I know) like gymnastics, so we can see specialists be rewarded. Stephane Gold for spins. Johnny Gold for performance.

^^ I signed it. Maybe I'm naieve or not enough; but could that work? I know that in some exhibitions there are wildcards (like Kimmie at 2008 Nationals?)?

I'm not sure if it works, but I want to do something to see him skate to Poker Face! I've also heard that some skaters got special slots and performed at exhibitions.

Rurunyan, thanks for the link to the petition. I signed and sent the link to another friend.

I saw in the protocols that Johnny got lower interpretation and performance marks than Stephane. Now, I adore Stephane, but he was so tight. He was not reaching out and performing that program at all. How could Johnny score lower than him?

Yes, that injustice really takes the cake. I like Stephane too, but he was so wooden. Johnny's flow was awesome.

"he has no transitions" mantra - it`s absolutely wrong!

For two days I was writing the transitions in Johnny`s and Evan`s FS ( writing the element after element looking their programs with very low speed).

And the results of my analys is that they have almost equal transition elements.

I`ve got now the lists of their transitions but I`m Russian and it`s very difficult for me to write here in English these lists.

I suppose to everyone who repeats the words "he has no transitions" to do the same work as I`ve done already before to say this wrong words.

Johnny said skating is very political and they didn't want 2 men from the same country on the podium

Which is possibly one of the most stupid assessments when the US has had two ladies on the podium a number of times at the Olympics. Russia in the pairs and dance? There are many many true and cutting thigns he could surmise. That two people from the same country cannot be on the podium is soooooo not one of them.

I don't know. After watching Ice Dance, I might have to agree with him...

Johnny was amazing and it was great to seem him skate really well on the Olympic stage. I don't know about Weir finishing fourth, because by making that argument you are saying that Weir was on par with Takahashi. Takahashi beat Lambiel by 0.51 points, making the two of them almost interchangeable. If you want to say that Lambiel was scored too high, I'd understand Weir finishing 4th then. He definitely should have finished higher than Chan (Chan's FS PCS was just about 5 points higher than Weir :indiff:), or at the very least finished closer than 2.5 points behind Chan.

It really is a shame that he won't be able to perform at the gala. His "Poker Face" performance is such a crowd pleaser.

I also think it a strange reasoning. What do you think the reasons for his marks?
