Years ago, in my old American Girl magazine, I read a letter from a teen recalling a funny event in her life, and I still crack up thinking of this story:

She was receiving her First Holy Communion in the late sixties, and as her father escorted her into the church, two rather stoned hippies were watching. Of course, she's in the standard little white dress and veil and Dad's in his Sunday best suit, and as they entered, they heard the hippies say the following:

Hippie 1: Man, look at the really young BRIDE!!!

Hippie 2: Yeah, man, and look at the OLD GUY she's marrying!!!!

Something tells me that it took her and Dad a few minutes to stop laughing hysterically before they could proceed to the altar.
