Need computer help!

My computer is driving me nuts. While I am typing all of a sudden what I am typing is in the middle of a previous sentence instead of where it is supposed to be. Does anyone know what causes this?

Are you working on a laptop or a desktop? If you're working on a laptop that has a touchpad mouse, I find that when I type my thumb base tends to tap the touchpad, which makes the mouse re-point the cursor wherever it is pointed. If this applies, try locking the touchpad.

Thanks Alexei's girl ! That must be what I am doing. This keyboard is a little different from my old computers. Disabling the toucpad solved the problem. Thank you so much for your help.
