Thanks for the info. Didn't know. I do wish we got to see Yuna's speed and jumps showcased against Yulia's in the same rink, simultaneously.

There is a good chance that it will only happen once in history and that won't happen until Thursday's FS and that's only a strong maybe.

Thank you for the links! Wow, Yu-Na looks really in top form: hope she wins, as long as she skates like this!

OMG!!!

Carolina!!!!

Let me explain...

I am part of a very small figure skating group on facebook...

And, the guy who makes the comments for Brazilian TV was in the practices today.

What he said about Carolina:

"She is having a hard time... Struggling... Lots of falls... Her jumps success rate is about 40%... But, she is landing the lutz consistently and struggling with the 3F+3T"

I can't believe.

He also said Akiko is doing so bad...

My two favorites. This is so sad.

The olympic nightmare is back for Caro.

EXTRA THING: he also said carolina is looking very scared and panicky with the practices. =(

Nooo, I want them all to do their best. Just watched Worlds 2013 again to get in the mood and thought if Carolina can just skate similar to that performance (sans the blood and last jump) maybe, just maybe she has a chance at the podium, the judges loved her Bolero. But if the jumps left her, oh no. I still feel bad when I only think of her horrible Vancouver disaster. And Akiko? Why? *insertswearword* You have NOTHING to loose, Akiko. Just do it! Maybe fatigue is getting to her. Must be hard competing with the 15 year olds.

I don't speak Russian, so I don't know if the Korean news people correctly translated what he said, but the subtitle at the bottom of the screen quotes him saying that, "Yuna's still hiding her tricks up in her sleeve. We shall have to wait until the actual competition and see what she does..."

(His comment is really strange and doesn't make any sense. The news reporter said that Lakernik had been watching with two other tech specialists the entire practice of Yuna Kim. So, he must have seen her hit 3Lz-3T and other jumps, so what tricks does he mean that Yuna is hiding??? Maybe his comment was mistranslated? I just don't know...)

The context is that Yu-Na did her SP run-through this morning in the main rink with no jumps, so that's what he's referring to. She later hit all of her jumps and elements in the practice.

I didn't think it was a big deal. Other skaters also did their run-through with no jumps.

In her afternoon practice, Yu-Na did a full run-through of her FS with all choreography, jumps, and spins (minus layback spin).

Well what did we expect the tech controller to say, yuna looks amazing and we look forward to giving her high marks? Also, like the poster above stated, he said(according to korean subtitle) she is hiding her ability, let's wait. to say he was skeptical of her practice isn't very accurate. and, like he said, CAN WE WAIT? the speculations are killing me.

Sorry for my English, it is very bad. I speak Russian, it is my native language.

Lakernik said: "... it doesn't add up to much... besides the skills you need to have nerves and an ability to show it in competition. Let's wait."

seriously?!!! ugh. worst news ever.

is there any video footage of her practices?

if she is landing the lutz consistently, maybe add to the short program and do a couple in the long and if she is struggling with the triple flip/triple toe, maybe do double axel, triple toe instead.

carolina shouldn't be scared or panicky. she's had 2 terrible experiences at the olympics- she just needs to work hard, relax and enjoy the experience. she's been saying this for the past 4 years. put it to use caro!

KIM is a politician, knows how to behave before the media. I've heard that Kim participated Soch Olympics because she wanted to be an IOC member in future. If she couldn't win, her market values also plummet in South Korea. Maybe that is the biggest pressure.

haha You must be in la la land ignoring thousands of reports that Yuna almost reached the state of nirvana. When in Vancouver everything was not on the line? The way she approached the media then was much different than the way she does today. You even claim that she is faking in front of cameras. Your groundless claims would make you look like an idi*t, I am afraid.

Oh no Carolina.... I wish she nail her SP tomorrow as she did in the team event and get her confidence back. If she could muster her strengths and keep mistake count low, she is still a threat. I want her to finish on the podium.
