its okay, everyone needs to see how brilliant that program is and Giada is (even though technically she is behind)Hands down, Giada Russo especially her Red Violin LP. (Okay, I'm posting about her programmes in every thread I can because they really deserve to be noted!) As far as I am concerned, musicality has to be something more creative and unique than hitting the notes and matching with the melody and that's why her programmes are spectacular in so many ways.
Sasha Cohen had amazing musical abilities and could accentuate musical accents so well. Her Romeo and Juliet program from the Olympics is one of the most beautifully choreographed pieces of ice skating I have ever seen. Every musical note was hit to perfection and the musical edits were outstanding even if the jumps weren't there.
Petrov, and he won't be at Worlds. Kolyada got the other spot.
I'm happy for my Giada promotion being quite productive
And I'm seconding Sasha Petrov! Some people seem to find him lacking in personality, but he's got really good musicality, the best among the young men to my mind.
So am I, happy that is. This is exactly what I was looking for with this thread, musical skaters I need to watch for. I hope people will keep adding to the list.
I think Petrov did one of his programs this season to "Bring Him Home," and it was very beautiful skating and interpretation. I only "discovered" him at SC.
QUOTE=Perdita;1388250]Yay! Thank you for starting a great thread!
I think that skater in your mind is not Sasha... seems like Daisuke Murakami?? [
1. I am shocked no one has mentioned the name Carolina Kostner yet.
2. I feel compelled to nominate this program. It is the first thing that popped into my mind when I read "Stellar Musical Quality" in the thread title.

Two of Michelle's programs always stand out to me - first because I totally love the music and second because she interpreted both with such feeling and emotion. East of Eden and Fields of Gold.
