After being diagnosed with his third brain tumor last summer, the Olympic figure skater learned at a February check-up that the growth — a benign pituitary tumor — has shrunk in size without treatment. Hamilton will open up about his health crises — and enduring determination — in the new PEOPLE and ABC News special People Icons: Heroes & Survivors, airing Tuesday, March 14, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Wonderful news! His outlook on life is impressive and deeply inspiring. He won't let anything get to him and who knows, maybe this positive attitude is exactly the reason why he has defied the odds so many times. Wishing him all the best and continued strength! :)

Truly amazing--both his story and his attitude. He always came across as a genuinely nice guy, but it's more than that. He has such a gentleness about him but yet he's incredibly strong. Wishing him continued health and happiness!

Scott Hamilton is amazing. His grit, determination, and "never give up" attitude are such an inspiration. I can still picture him carrying the flag in at the 1980 opening ceremony of the Olympics. Hugs and prayers for Scott! :luv17:
