As someone who never met a plant I couldn't and didn't kill (not on purpose!), I'm always impressed by people who have the ability to garden so creatively!

How cute! Do you have to water the impatients more than once a day or do the skates keep them from drying out? I have seen the same thing done with hiking boots but not skates. I made a wreath for my front door wth a pair of white skates and a knitted neck scarf tied for the bow that I hang up from January 6 (when the Christmas wreath comes down) through Worlds each year.

The impatiens/soil seem to be staying pretty moist in the skates. I check every few days and water approximately once a week....under the tree where they are they often don't get wet from rain, especially if it's a light rainfall.
