Hello! I recently moved to the Miami area, and would appreciate any advice for reliable skate sharpeners in reasonable proximity. The closest rink to me is Kendall Ice Rink which offers figure skate sharpening, but I would be willing to drive further to make sure my blades are correctly sharpened.

And/or fitters would be great as well, as my adult feet have unexpectedly grown a full size over the past year. I heard of Tim who may be at Wesley Chapel, which is about a 5 hour drive each way. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sadly, Wesley Chapel is going to be your best bet.

Hey! Long-time lurker here. I'm also in SoFlo and I get my skates sharpened at Panthers Den in Coral Springs (typically by Will or Robbie); they're great, and I really appreciate that the other sharpeners have specifically told me they're not comfortable sharpening them if they're not experienced with fs blades (mine are coronation ace lites, which don't necessarily require specialist care but seemingly make them nervous regardless). I've only been to Kendall once for a competition, so can't speak to the quality of sharpening there, but I've heard mixed reviews about the other major skating rink/pro shop in the area, which is Pines. They're under new management as of a few months ago, and the overall quality of services has supposedly improved since that happened, but I haven't personally tried it out.

With regards to fittings, I got mine out of state but have asked around ( coaches/other serious skaters) and have been recommended two places that do legit FS fittings: the one in Wesley Chapel (couldn't find anything about it on the website so would recommend calling ahead to see about scheduling appointments) and one in Kissimmee (Orlando area) called Ice Factory (https://www.icefactory.com/iceskates). Again, no first hand experience with either, but I'll be in Orlando in a few weeks and plan on checking out the Ice Factory, so can report back afterwards. Best of luck!

I suggested AdventHealth Center Ice in Wesley Chapel upthread. It's a major training facility for US and International Skaters (ex: Kevin Aymoz).
They are going to be OP's best bet for fitting.
