Do you happen to know who's their coach?
They are coached by the Velikovs, IIRC
I thought they were the class of the field. Shame about the twist IMO, it cost them first place...

Yea. It's sadI'm watching now. It's a little depressing seeing all those empty seats. :disapp:

The time is the same for the pairs short program, but there are different required elements for the lift, twist lift, throw jump and solo jump. In the free skate, the junior program is 30 seconds less and again, there are some differences in the required elements. I think 2 of the US teams are actually skating novice at the national level, so they have 4 programs they're training as well.100Yen said:What?
Why are they training entirely different programs for the senior level?
To meet the requirements for the 2009/2010 season, Tanovich would have had to turn 13 by July 1st. Her birthday is in August, so she was only 12 as of the deadline.Sorry for my ignorance, but why can't Chau/Tanovich do JGP? Tanovich is 13 now, and Chau isn't 21 yet.
Canadian are skating to russian folk music isn't it?...something 'like those where the days my friend'
Yeah.. There has to be SOME way to fill a few more seats. I'd give away tickets for free before I let it be almost completely empty.
I think there are a few factors for not seeing a big crowd. First, school is back in session, so even though there are a number of skating clubs within an hour of Lake Placid, they wouldn't be able to attend until this afternoon or tomorrow. Secondly, Lake Placid is not the easiest destination to get too. And finally, there's the weather. In the northeast US, there haven't been very many warm, sunny days and for the most part, this whole week and the upcoming weekend are going to be beautiful. Unfortunately, I think that will keep a lot of people doing outside activities and not wanting to sit in a rink (even if they were offered free tickets as opposed to paying $7 or $8 dollars). The seating for the Original Dance today is just as empty as the Compulsory was yesterday =__=
Surely the can do something about this, and like you said, maybe even give away free tickets
The Shibutanis currently have 90.44....coincidentally also the same CD + OD personal best score of Chock & Zuerlein from the 2009 Junior Worlds!
I'd say they're progressing quite well-- and its only the beginning of the season! :agree:
So, are Victoria Sinitsina and Valeriy Sinitsin siblings?

Does anybody know what Taylor Firth scored? IN says she's currently in first. I just got home from classes and didn't get to see the first ten skaters.
