Oh, man, Orser came along just in time!
yess!!! He came just in time to save the helpless hotheaded irresponsible kid from himself and from his monster japanese former coach!!
Oh, man, Orser came along just in time!
60 quads a day without off-ice conditioning. No wonder he incurred many injuries.
I remember Orser saying about "effective training" (I was sold by this interview). I was impressed by these two words a lot because I myself have a skater who works really hard and beats herself up until she lands jumps. She is a hard worker but not an effective worker. After I heard Orser's interview, I wrote "effective training" on a paper and put it on my skater's skating bag.
I really hope that Yuzu will be a effective skater!
Thank you so much for your effort!! I really appreciate everything you've delivered here
Oh, man, Orser came along just in time!
I cannot withdraw from FS Worlds. And I also think I cannot avoid challenging quads.
It would be absolutely regret if I couldn't make contribution to secure 3 spots for Japan because I came here as Japanese National Champions.
Coach Orser told me, one year practice has been accumulated. But competition is different from practice, please believe yourself has such kind of great strength to get through. Under hard physical condition, I burned my frustration today.
To Yuzuru, I know his effort, he will stand on Worlds podium again, I strongly believe so.
Plus warm words from Javi
Javi, thanks so much for such moving words.
Yuzuru and Javi, greatest teammate ever.
I find it significant that YuNa had such a bad back injury that she could barely skate in about 2007, yet several years later at the Olympics she was invincible. Now, several years after her decisive win at 2010, she has been able to return to skating virtually at the same level where she left. Clearly some change in her training program was instituted, and her back injury did not become chronic. Her trainer at that time was Orser. Whatever happened to split YuNa and Orser, he seems to have done her a huge amount of good. I hope that Yuzuru and Javier benefit from his coaching as well.
The "last interview" or "couples of time in different interviews" are supposed to be linked to the actual interviews. As well as youtube links to the presumed TV progs. I am amazed that you can remember the direct speeches spoken 3 years ago but not all of us are so gifted. For example, from one Special TV Program of Yuzuru, named 東北未来人, broadcast on 19th Nov 2010.
In the TV program, it's said Yuzuru was practicing 60 quad jumps in one hour a day, almost one minute one quad.
"Kato San: After seeing video footage of Yuzuru's practice, I was shocked by his hard training.
Honda San(Takeshi Honda, famous Japanese male skater): Yes, I'm worried. I would say Yuzuru practicing 60 quad jumps are too much, for me, to the most, I used to practice 20 quad jumps a day. 60 quad jumps, is that too much?
Yuzuru: For me, I don't think I jumped too much, I addicted to practice jumps and easily I just forgot how many times I took off anyway. I definitely want to jump
In last year interview, Orser said ...
At least you can enjoy the Godess Youtube where your Little Prince Charming won't be ever gone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZqttQHAwbUyess!!! He came just in time to save the helpless hotheaded irresponsible kid from himself and from his monster japanese former coach!!
Clearly some change in her training program was instituted, and her back injury did not become chronic. Her trainer at that time was Orser.
I remembered Yuna also suffered horrible low back pain when times got back to her Junior's, low back pain almost could end her career if I remember it correctly.
Yes, Orser said couples of time in different interviews that effective training with a complete scientific training plan is required in order to make contribution for skaters.
It must be tough as being a skater's mother, and please pass my sincere greeting to your little fighter, also please let her understand don't push too hard, sometimes slow down coz less is more. Staying away from all injuries. I wish her a bright future.

Thank you! Actually she is a big fan of Yuzu, too! Yuzu has been giving her a big influence in a good way (but sometimes in a bad way such as "I have to push myself through a pain because Yuzu did the same thing too")
Skaters cannot completely avoid the injuries and pains. Even at novice level, my skater already suffered hip (from many fallings from double axel) injury and knee pain (from sit spin). Even though her coaches, trainers, and I are trying hard to minimize the injuries by making her do off-ice training, things happen as long as you try to master a new skill.
Last season (12-13) many skaters (international level, national level, local level) suffered all kinds of injuries from skating. I hope everybody trains well and be healthy this upcoming season!
Thanks a lot wxunxx for all your translation and information you brought even from Yuzuru's Junior year!
Yuna suffered ligament injury of her ankle during season 2005-2006, then keen injury and lumbar disc herniation during season 2006-2007.
She competed at 2008 Worlds with a recent hip injury and persistent back pain, where she was placed fifth in short but rebounded in free and won bronze.
Is this just me or Yuzuru's 13 Worlds experience reminds me of Yuna's 2008WC? Only Yuzuru was placed 4th.
I'm sure coaches have ways to prevent their skater from injury, but it's not like Yuna's chronic injury quickly disappeared when she trained under Orser, and she did suffer from new injury after moving to Cricket. Obviousely it takes time for coach & skater to understand each other and cooperate better in order to work out the most suitable training philosophy and train effectively, and of course helps from team doctor and physical therapist are mandatory.
wxunxx, we're really grateful for your contribution to this forum. So, you don't need to explain yourself.
I scoured the web for the video but as you said, had no luck finding it and stumbled upon this blog instead. I believe s/he has the whole transcript of the documentary (separated into two parts):
First half
Second half
Hope that helps.
Geez such a cute little girl, I love her lol!!!. but please tell her that not everything Yuzuru did was correct, particularly overtraining himself. Overtraining could cause serious injuries and it may force her to quit skating.
Hip injury and knee pain? Is she OK? I hope it's not that serious. It must be heart broken to see your little girl suffered. I'm so sorry about that.
Oh and to all thanks messages to me, I'm humbled and again I'm really glad I could help. I feel also quite moved seeing Yuzuru fans from all over the world here. We are family.
To all my Yuzuru fellows here, I guess I have to explain a bit.
The reason why I could give out some detailed TV repo or interview is that I build up a Yuzuru Database long time ago, all these years obtaining information about Yuzuru Hanyu in categories, such as years, competitions, video repo, magazine repo etc.
Trust me, I'm a human being not some sort of super memory robot lol.
But I guess I have to say sorry for some misunderstandings may caused by my translations, all questions are welcomed indeed.
If you are searching for videos I mentioned above, too bad that TV programs, documentaries produced by Japanese TV were easily deleted on YouTube due to restrict copyright.
For example, you may not find 東北未来人 online. I'm sorry that I just found a video repo at a personal blog, published on 20th Nov 2010, big thanks to the blogger, http://ameblo.jp/mdx117-mikdt/entry-10713351589.html
And Super News 28th Dec 2009, it's here, at Chinese video sharing network. Youku rocks! http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzM1MDU4ODky.html, and thx to the uploader.
Hope it helps!
