Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

I'm not sold on the WWRY part, but I think you probably need to see it from the judges side to appreciate it. The good thing is there is so much more in the way of transitions and choreographic detail than last year, they look comfortable with the Ravenburger Waltz and the lift was fab!

This is going to grow. So much hand to hand hold going on.

It's great and they are sooo good , so light on their feet, close in holds, they are fast for September

I was surprised how good the technical elements look already. :)

Its difficult to do so much in hold requires lots of focus it looked hard for them today, but it will grow. I really like the dance as a whole. Looking forward to how it develops.

It like that it isn't easy. They are going for the win this season

I'm not great on technical things so I'm so confused because all you guys are so positive about their elements and then there's the Test Skates thread which is saying totally different things

I love it myself. The WWRY most of all. Obviously need more work but the program is great and they are skating much closer than last season. LOL to the blind people.

No, the usual suspects are saying different things. Nothing new there, no?
;) Were you expecting compliments?

 Well, it depends what you are expecting. IMO, for September they look good. They can`t be already in form as if it`s January/February, it would be impossible to sustain the form for so many months. Also, if you consider that the choreography is much more detailed and that they got it later than their FD, it`s a good beginning.

Didnt really get the wow reaction. This routine is more like a feel good routine. Nice music and very light on their feet. First part I think they nailed it and lift was pretty stable but second part needs more polishing and first part of twizzle needs more syncho. There's a moment during the second part that I they were slow. Overall pretty good.

I think it's good. It's not a masterpiece but I think as long as they nail all the levels they will get good scores. And good performances.

Having rewatched a couple of times, the partial step sequence really isn't good (and yes it's September and they have time to work on it, so I'm not worried). It needs to be crisper, they have to be careful not to drift apart and to be honest I'd change the sequence entirely because it's not very march like and everything could be much sharper and on the beat. But there is time to fix it all and I expect they've been getting all that as feedback (& much more!) from the experts in Sochi.

As long as it`s doing the job, they will be fine. IMO, I would rather have them a masterpiece as a FD, because there the PCS count a lot more. The SD is to show their technical expertise, which this program allows them to do.

TBH, that part of the choreography looks the newest and it has cool elements they just need more time to iron it out. Ruslan seems to be enjoying himself for both of them. That's a good sign for me.
