I mut see the episode first... which ep

I'll have to find it. Netflix cut the episodes in half - lasting only about 45 minutes, so you would think it would be half the number for the episode number on youtube, but last time I checked it was a number off, so give me some time and I'll give you the episode and minute marker.

Ok Youtube is E16 30 minutes in - when she calls the clansmen sharecroppers. From now on I'll call the episode prefixed with Y for youtube , Y16 30 min. in. We'll have to wait for Savas saying he's not a land owner, it's in a future episode that I haven't watched yet this time around. I call the netflix episode N29 etc.

Lilarose,
Merhaba. How do you spell "jenim"? For dear, sweetheart, darling. They say it all the time but I can't find how it's spelled. Thanks.

How interesting! In this story, Savas and Nadya also lived or worked in Italy so there must be a bit of a connection.
The food culture very Mediterranean with Italian/Greek food or what I mean by all the specialty cheeses, olive oil dishes and raki must be like the Greek Ouzo and Italian Anisett. The seaside restaurants so familiar. ‘I could go on!

The main actor, Murat Yildirim, was born in Konya. At least that's what his bio says. That's where I'd seen Konya mentioned before so you have a connection too. :)

Father ifs Kurdish., Mother is Arabic. The storyline somewhat aluded to real Turkish history vis Kurds in Van and Savas saying he was loyal to his country,

There is a whole complicated history of land ownership and Turkish tribes etc and events of 1915-1922. Not familiar w details.

OOHH Savas he is so confident in his smarts without being arrogant. Pala wants to know how he is going to break ground this summer and have the factory built next year because they didn't get the initiative loan. Savas just says with confidence- I'll figure it out - and he will.

And the next phone call between Savas and Yasemin is wonderful. They talk a bit about the flood and the commercial shooting and then Savas wants her to stop talking business and tell him something nice. She thinks for a minute and then starts to talk about anything and everything in a playful manner which she has the wit to do, making Savas forget the burden of his responsibility of the flood and clan and causes him to relax and smile. And at the same time.....we see Cicek who has snuck (or sneaked, depending on your spelling preference) into his room and is checking it out, admiring it all, and touching everything when he specifically said that she is not to enter his room and touch his things. And how she's even going to snoop in his drawers. Oh boy, Eyvah, OMG, Alla hAllah, sure enough she finds the engagement ring he has bought Yasemin. Serves her right, she shouldn't have been snooping!

And the next thing we hear Yasemin's doorbell ring and she's in her pjs and Savas is at the door returned from Van. The translation says - your pajamas are cute. I personally think they are more than cute, they are between cute and sensual, maybe that's just me. It's Y16 46:37 in. if you want to check Lilarose you don't have to if you don't want to. I'd rather you watch the series with us.

I think I know part of the answer. The j sound in English is written with a c in turkish, so it's probably cenim or something like that.

Cem is pronounced jem or we would spell it gem, crazy isn't it. But I keep forgetting that C is the Engish J sound.

OK, it's a question we've had this entire series and still don't have a firm answer and maybe it is just too complicated, which I can accept.

I adore the antique pin or hair pin that Savas bought Yasemin while he was in Van. The scenario writers messed up here. She should have worn that pin sometime during the series. It is beautiful.

Yavuz sure takes after his father in the deception department. Ahmet's explanation is about Gokhan is that he gave him over to the police, when in fact he brided Gokah to volunteer to go to jail in his stead. Makes him look good doesn't it. Yavuz is just more refined in his deceptions. I can't get over it, Ahmet just wanders in, uninvited, to Savas' office or the factory and reminds them that he is family.

Strange the translator doesn't work. I reversed the arrows so Turkish to English, typed CENIM and it shows Canimin... Turkish has some conjugation rules ... Hmmm. CEN is not working as well .

It does give can for darling or beloved and isn't the -im ending possessive, so maybe canim (jenim) my darling. I don't know that's my guess.

when you enter canim into that little translator you get wonderful English translations: darling, dear, honey, sweety, sweet heart, my precious, honeybun, honeybunch. No wonder that word is forever falling out of their mouth!
