When I made out my Grand Prix Final Ladies predictions, I thought that it would be my last opportunity to use those podium predictions. So, it was a surprise that I was able to use them again here.
Get well soon Zhenya!
The Top 4 are the same as I predicted for the GP Final. However, I have made a few changes below that. The first is that I have taken a chance and integrated one of my predictions from the Olympics into it by putting Mirai ahead of the girls representing Japan. I know, it is a big risk given that Mirai only just managed to get into the Top 10 in Pyeongchang. But, I really want her to do better here.
Secondly, for the GP Final, I had Wakababy ahead of Miyahara. However, after how well Satoko did at the Olympics, I have switched them around here.
After this, I followed the pattern of my Olympics predictions. With one exception. I had Konstantinova completing my Top 10. I would have liked to have had Choi Da Bin in my Top 10, but decided to go for the young Russian instead.
My Pairs predictions are also pretty similar to what I have used earlier in the season. At the GP Final, I put Tarasova / Morosov ahead of Savchenko / Massot, and it didn’t pay off. At the Olympics, I put them the other way around, and it paid off big time. So, I’m sticking to my Olympics order this time around!
At the Olympics, nostalgia got the better of me and I put Yu / Zhang ahead of James / Cipres. And it didn’t pay off. But, I’m sticking to my guns and putting the Chinese on the podium here.
After how they got on at the Olympics, I am promoting the lovely Miss Marchei and her Czech mate from completing my Top 10 to completing my Top 5.
In another change, I have pushed Seguin / Bilodeau down below Scimeca / Knierim and Zabijako / Enbert, who I have also switched around. After their disappointing Olympics, I could have pushed Alexa and Chris out of my Top 10. But, I like them, and hope they will bounce back here.
There wasn’t much between Seguin / Bilodeau and della Monica / Guarise at the Olympics. And since I like the Italian partnership more, I pushed them above the Canadian partnership as well.
But then arose a problem. I was left with only one spot, and a lot of partnerships that I wanted to put into my Top 10. So, in the end, I went with my heart. Tae Ok and Ju Sik.
Going to have my breakfast now. I could come back and do the Men afterwards, but I think it would be better to return to the TV schedules since the event is starting today!
