So ISU want to lobby for skaters to improve their all-rounded skills in skating, spins, jumps by... lowering the points for spins and steps. Epic!

The thing is, I think the idea does have logical merits behing it (unlike other stuff).
But, and this is a huge BUT, if they don't formally declare a Serious Error and the document continued to be worded with "should", there's whole can of worms waiting to be opened.![]()
Jumping straight to creepy vampire romance novels sounds like a bit too much of a punishment for fans, though. :/

But you can get your choreo sequence to be worth more, though! Silver lining! /s
Viva la revolution of spread eagles!
Heeeey, maybe they already have! Head-canon-ing.The ISU should hire some circle-running lab rats to just randomly jump on pieces of paper with potential rules written on them, couldn't get any worse and could save them time/money. When 3A<< is worth more then 3A<, you know the poor lab rats couldn't do worse.

^^^This.
Like just???? What?
But then actually rare quads like 4A and the 4Lo get a downgrade in favour of 4F, 4Ltz. Like, why not?
It seems like this +/-5 GOE is just going to mean more granularity which again seems completely against the stated goals of this whole endeavour.
All I can see is that there is now further penalties for under rotations and potentially fewer tanos; maybe judges will find it more work to award a +5 vs the old +3 :sarcasm:
I wonder if there are so much rules changes in other sports. Why to raise quads an 3A BVs....for reduce them just 8 years later?
Like during the transitional period from Vancouver to Sochi, people were falling all over the place and the Olympics was a nightmare, I still wouldn't agree to downgraded quad value, but I would've understood it. But now, when the top guys are gaining more quad consistency, with the Olympic champion having the highest success rate for quads and the World champion having just done two 6-quad free skates back to back, now they are lowballing quads, and selectively too? Ugh
