Is anyone else thinking that Alina keeping the 3Lz-3Lo in the SP is not the smartest? She can do 3Lz-3T much more easily, and historically with higher GOE. If she puts that combo in the second half, not only is it more stable but she'll actually score higher on it because of bonus and higher GOE than the Lz-Lo, with less risk (other than not being able to tack it on later; but I've never seen her miss it). It makes so much more sense to me, as Lz-Lo's advantage is nonexistent in SP given that it's much more difficult and she doesn't get nearly as much GOE

Eteri is really good at raking points, really really good at it! she also knows what Alina is capable of, so if she finds that the 3lz-3T somehow would bring her more points, she'll play with the layout! Eteri always find a way to win the most points possible (hate or love her, she's the boss at it, she invented that game :cool14

I read the exact same thing at the beginning of last season.

But last season she had everything backloaded so that was the layout that gave her the most points. But backloaded 3Lz-3T + GOE > front loaded 3Lz-3Lo, no?

no, it's not worth the risk. If she makes a mistake on 3Lz she can just make up for it with 3F-3lo by adding 3lo. But if she will do the combo as the last jump. she won't be able to do it.
in juniors, it's probably a good idea to have the combo backloaded. But not in the seniors.

I think it’s a gorgeous dress and I invite anyone to wear it :agree:

Also..the 3Lz-3Lo is Zagitova's signature, there might be some pride in pulling it off. I see them changing it only if Alina has some problems with the consistency on the combo.

I agree. 3Lz-3Lo is her trademark, they probably wouldn‘t want to change that now. Also, it doesn‘t really matter if she has some problems at the start of the season as she won‘t face Evgenia till later and she can still win her GP assignments if she comes back strong in the FP. That‘s what happened last year, she never had a clean SP until it really mattered - Europeans and Olympics. So, if she again peaks at those times of the season - Euros and Worlds, she‘ll be fine. There‘s also the fact that she doesn‘t fully backload anymore and will lose some points here. Remember that at the OG where both her and Evgenia were clean, the point difference was only a bit more than a point and that was the difference she had in the SP. Without her 3Lz-3Lo combo she‘d probably have lost, it was that close. Of course, we can‘t really make any assumptions right now because we don‘t know how judging will be next season and especially with the new rules... interesting times lie ahead of us. The only thing I dare to assume is: We will see a lot of Russian gold medals next season.

I wouldn't mind even if you were attacking me. Anyway, I think she is in the statistical limit either to loose her jumping ability for a couple of months or to get injured.

I'm surprised that some people think Alina doesn't use facial expressions, I actually find her face very much expressive in a subtle yet powerful manner, I loved her drama faced Black Swan! I much prefer that to gaping, mouth-opening or eye-widening. Just look at Yuzu, he doesn't seem to do that much with his face (with the exeption of high energy programs like LGC ), yet his face is extremely expressive, I feel the same about Alina's face.

Yesterday, I went memory lane a bit and re-watched Yulia's Elvis SP from Russian Nats in 2015 - I have to say that I've never been a huge fan of her during her competitive career, but I really started to appreciate how her skating matured more and more, feeling regret that we won't see more of that. At the same time, I really admire her for putting her health and comfort first and now working with children.
