I like dresses, I like some unitards, but dress-tards with the skirt and unitard a no-no from me

Considering the reigning OGM won wearing two tutus, I still think we are a long way away from seeing fewer dresses and more unitards. Especially for younger girls - for many of them, part of the appeal is getting to dress up in a gorgeous dress.

My fave unitards are the ones Vanessa James wears - very sleek and sexy!

I feel that wearing unitards are also a step away from the whole "it's not sport, look at the dresses!". If well done, I don't mind which the skater is wearing. I love Trusova's LP costume!

I just saw Trusova's FP costume in action. What can I say... This is the best costume I have ever seen, and I usually love dresses. Again well done Olga Ryabenko! I am such a fan of her already Still wondering about the SP though, black and yellow is such a no-go for me... Esp after last season's Candyman trauma

Not sure about other places, but my experience is that once they are out of the earliest stages of figure skating, the girls aren't all that motivated by the dresses.

In the first year or two out of basic skating, many of them train in dresses and leg-warmers, and are into the skating princess fantasy, but fairly soon they are into pants. Some are done with dresses before they are out of helmets.

Not sure that the competition dresses are all that exciting after the first few. They just want to look good.

We are allowed to say anything about the Russian girls whenever we want we just can't go on and start talking about other nationality skaters during the competition as if we are live chatting the event.

Black and yellow is what the character wears in the movie. The FP costume seems to allude to the opera singer character which also seem to be evident in hand movements in the choareography. It seems like a mix between the opera singer (blue body) and the orange worn by the female protagonist.

No way RusFed. Tarusina is solid as a rock. The spin was the coach's error and a one time thing. It in no way compares to a step out (in the short), Fall and <.

There might be other young girls who are not attracted to figure skating because they aren't into the girly/princess aesthetic. I never was, and all of that frilly stuff would have turned me off immediately. I love unitards and catsuits though.

Sasha's programs & costumes are hands down my favorite from the ladies this season, and very different from the other Eteri girls...they really knocked it out of the park. Thanks for letting her be herself, and please don't ever let Ilia Averbukh get within 5km of her

Idk, i hope RusFed looks at the ambitious contents Sinitsyna has, especially in the free program and gives her the second spot anyway. She is one of my favs, i'd personally take Tarakanova's spot unless she changes that tacky free program.

As a child, I refused to do ballet because I hated anything pink and the only leotards avaliable were pink.

I kind of wonder if the leotards are more advantageous? Especially the compression leggings. I think they increase performance and recovery, although it’s probably minimal. I do admit to liking the wasn’t some of the dresses/tutus look during spins though
