2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Strange the cuts for her FS?Strange....I think that it's a matter of taste.Fans will never be all of them happy with music/choreography (are you a fan?just currious...).I love the cuts and how armonious the 3 songs are putted one next to another.
I don't see either that she regressed at choreograpy part.TAT nevet does mediocre programs. She needs to work more at the program.I see it like a work in progress now.
I don't expect that TAT works with her more to understand better the program or to level up her step sequences because she is implied in a lot of things...hm...but Nikita Mikhailov, the other choreographer ,should work with her for this part.
I remembered Trusova's interview from last season when she said that the choreographer is needed only at the beginning of the season when they learn the program.I think that it depends by the skater and the way she/he is feeling comfortable at training.
Polina is shy but aslo the kind of skater who needs to feel her team supporting her.
Sloply??I saw her scared, with health problens that coudn't permit her to make her elements, lacking confidence, but nit sloppy. She has a natural elegance and grace.

My problem isn‘t the choreography. I quite like it so far and I love the music. I fear for her because she’s been underrotating in every competition so far and something like this can really hamper a score. And the problem here is that she‘s in a term that is known for having skaters with UR problems they can‘t seem to fix. Masha‘s been constantly underrotating for years. Yes, she‘s tall and that‘s likely a factor but so is Polina and if they couldn‘t help Masha... why would they suddenly be able to help Polina?

The problem isn‘t the choreo or the music. The problem is that she‘s facing technical challenges and for that she‘d need a team that is specialized in fixing them. And after what I‘ve seen so far from Team Buyanova over the past years, I can say with confidence that they certainly aren‘t.

Tsurskaya really has regressed a lot. I don't think I have much hope for her anymore. Buyanova's entire group is massively under-performing this season.

I understand this. I'm worried, too. about this UR problem. And about the onfidence in herself when she takes the ice.
I wonder if CSKA has a technical specialist to fix that problem. If not, they should find one.Camps with technical specialists are also an option. But they need one permanently.

I would never understand the people who rush with conclusions and to put "tags", like you.
Di you think that she regressed because she changed coaches or what?
Polina has problems with UR with Eteri, too. And not only her.
Eteri's girls don't have perfect jumps.
There is not a perfect skater or something like that, no matter the coach.
People forget how important is the relation between the athlete and the coach. This can change a lot athlete's results and attitude.
Polina always fought alone and I hope this time is different with her new team.
The season just started and she can progress like everybody can.

I agree that it seems unlikely that Buyanova is capable of addressing the technical challenges that Polina and Maria are both facing. Why does it seem like there just aren't enough coaches for top senior ladies in Russia? At this point, I think both of them would do better with Mishin - but he's NOT the type to have a stable full of ladies, so I don't think he would take either, let alone both. Still, he assisted Carolina a lot with her jumps for her comeback, and Carolina is tall. She's not consistent, but she doesn't have a UR problem.

Well, there's a few that are better but are senior as "junior" coaches, like Panova and Davydov. In St. Petersburg, there's Turenko, but that requires moving cities. And of course there's Eteri, but Polina came from her so that wouldn't work.

There's Urmanov in Sochi. I thought he did pretty well with Lipnitskaya before her retirement. Going to him would mean moving pretty far though.

It's just the beggining of the season.
I can't say right now that I'm a Buyaniva fan,far from that,but I also don't want to take conclusions.
Let's wait and see and not stress more Polina with our suppositions about what she should do ir where should her go.
She will know if she needs to make a change because she's a smart girl.
And,if she'll change the coach next season (again,it's too early for conclusions) not only in Russia are good coaches.
CSKA has(or have)a good relationship with Li da van Troyen. She has camps, she is ISU technical specialist,so they could collaborate with her.Or,I'm sure there are other technical specialists to collaborate with.

Yeah, it seems like the number of ladies' coaches who have had success coaching students 18+ is pretty limited, so.....it's difficult to know who to switch to. CSKA and Eteri are the only options, it seems like. Or Tsareva or Mishin.

So I don't follow the Russian men super closely, but does Kolyada's coach teach any ladies? Maybe working with a very good men's coach would work?

I'm a fan of both Maria and Polina, so I want to see them do well. Maria is off to a rocky start this season though she was decent last year. If Maria is suffering from URs still, I don't see Polina's getting addressed with Buyanova.

I think Liza will be Russian #3, though Daria could stop her.

Yep, Kolyada's coach, Valentina Chebotareva, also coaches Konstantinova.

Kolyada's coach is Chebotareva, who coaches Konstantinova.

Did you see panenkova at cup of russia? I don't know what happend in the last month but she seems completely out of form. So tsareva is not good choice either

And there is no way she can handle another top student. Turenko actually seems good, but no political pull whatsoever.

The other problem is that usually Moscow skaters want to stay in Moscow (often the opposite is true for SPB) cause they have all their social life in Moscow, there is usually more push for Moscow skaters, probably better funding, or better ice rinks,...

So the other options in Moscow besides Tutberidze and Buyanova are: Plushenko, Tsareva, Panova, Davydov and Sokolovskaya (plus so many other minor coaches).

I think Maria is going to stay at CSKA, while i can see Polina joining the Angels of Plushenko in a year or two.

I hope Tarakanova stays with Plushenko for a while. I think his sass and style of programs will be a good fit for her. Not everyone needs to have those awesome Eteri programs and I think it’s a style that will not only work well for her but needs someone of her capability to help showcase it. I just want to see her continue to absorb his teachings because I’m liking what I’m seeing and of utmost importance is the amount of potential I’m seeing.

Is she the first major medalists of the Angels of Plushenko program?

Nastya is getting on the quad train too! Apparently her coaching team thinks they will be able to incorporate the quad toe into her program by the end of the season, and they are optimistic that she will have a competitive quad by at least the next season. She is also working on her quad lutz.
