2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

somehow I came to read about Russian ladies but found accommodation discourse.

Anyway I want to wish good luck to Elizaveta, Daria and Evgenia! I hope Russian ladies will slay this weekend in Canada and win some medals

Here's to wishing the Russian ladies at SC a good comp! (before it starts :))
May Liza land her 3As (and everything else)
May Zhenya show improvement with Orser and skate clean
May Dasha build upon before with Tsareva!

:hap10:

Ya, I was wondering if I was logged onto Golden Skate or some international housing forum ;).

Hope Med and Liza slay! Interesting that both are skating to fun upbeat jazz and a tango, although for SP and FS switched amongst them. Will be a very exciting head to head indeed.

I think this is a big even for ET and EM. They need to show they are contenders I know it is early for Evgenia but so much is expected and hoped.

I don’t think Guliakova will be put on the World Team (even though I’d like her to be) because she hasn’t got the International experience. No senior International as of yet.

I thought that Ksenia Sinitsina was only 13 and too young for senior nationals anyway?? Btw, I love her Spanish sp!!!!!

So no loop combo just yet (which seems reasonable) but again two triple Lutz in the FS. I really don't understand this decision. Just repeat the Flip!

On another note who do people think will be at Russian Nats

Medvedeva, Zagitova, Tsurskaya, Panenkova, Tuktamysheva, Samodurova, Konstantinova, Sotsokova (locks due to GP)

Radio who will probably go to NHK especially as I don't think she can qualify to Nats otherwise and be a lock

Trusova, Shcherbakova, Tarakanova, Kostornaia (locks due to JGPF qualification)

Gulyakova ( two first place finishes at Russian Cup.

In total that is 14 out of the 18 total spots.

Contenders for the last four are;

Nugamova, Gubanova, Sakhanovich, Tarusina, Vasilieva, Istomina, Leonova, Pogorilaya (Sima is almost certainly out due to her low placements but I'm not sure about the others and if there is anyone else I have missed who could potentially make Nationals.

Well, lets see how the tech panel will work.
If it will be like at SA, they are leaving the door wide open for Liza Tuktik to win with this decision.

Here's Liza's planned content too. I think she could be a real threat to Medvedeva, especially with a harsh technical panel.

Again two 3Lz? :palmf: I love you Zhenya, but after what we‘ve seen at SA that doesn‘t seem reasonable at all. Liza has 3A in her FP but no 3F which could hamper her score a bit. But if she‘s consistent... she could be a real threat. I don‘t think Zhenya’s lutz edge has visibly improved, so I do hope they know what they‘re doing after all...

Something tells me that Zhenya winning Skate Canada isn't as important to Orser as giving her as many opportunities as possible to perform a clear lutz in competition.

It's a bad idea.... :(
she should do 1 Lz in FS. and keep 3lo as a solo jump in SP.

I‘m okay with 3Lz in SP for upping her technical content and getting used to performing it more in competition. It would also allow her to jump 3F-3Lo later. But she really doesn‘t need two 3Lz in the FS for now, especially not one in combo since the GOE is always measured by the first jump in combination so if she gets a ! or even e (though I don‘t think she‘ll get an e) she would lose a lot of points she could have easily got had she done a 3F-2T-2T. I know Brian and her want to fix the lutz and I strongly support this decision but I‘m not sure whether her first GP event is the right moment for experiments. But we‘ll see. I wish her all the luck and hope everything will be fine and she manages to pull off a win.
