Alina Zagitova

I think Alina’s biggest challenge will occur when she’s 18 and can make all of her own decisions. When she turns 18 more commercial opportunities will open up for her. The money she makes will be totally under her control and her parents won’t have a say. She can buy her own flashy car and an apartment in the swankiest part of Moscow. She’ll also be on the VIP guest list for every night club in Moscow and she’d probably be able to date any guy she wants.

Alina will have a lot of temptations.

But that will also be the year before the next Olympic Games. If she is still seriously pursuing that goal at 18 then she is going to be all business because that is what it takes to get there and no-one knows that better than her.

And if, for whatever reason, she is not pursuing that goal, then as a fan I'll support her and be happy for all of the opportunities that come her way.

I don't think turning 18 would make much difference. Like Oksana Baiul yielded those temptations at 16. For those who want/are weak to resist, there is no thing as age restriction, esp. when parents are away. But Alina is one of those with strong discipline and low desire for such things, no matter that some beast has tried to say otherwise.

I was thinking more about Adelina Sotnikova.

I watched Masaru's Airweave commercial again on youtube.

There are actually 4 thumbs-down on the video!!!!

C'mon - now Masaru has haterzzzzz????

Here are my 4 suspects....

Bobrova
Bestie
Trankov
NOT TAT

Alina's chinchillas should also be included on the suspect list! Masaru got them kicked out of their cozy home, so they have a lot of reason to downvote the dog.

I was thinking more about Adelina Sotnikova.

As I mentioned above, Adelina is a story of its own. I have no solid evidence, just my opinion, but I personally think she is afraid to compete. Now people talk about hate towards Zhenya, towards Alina, but even if I don't want to underestimate it, it is nearly nothing in comparison to the amount of hate towards Adelina, 5th season after the Sochi. At such conditions it would require nearly an autistic personality to ignore it and don't be affected by it.

I, for one, was glad that Alina plans to reintroduce them into the home when she moves to a bigger place.

They are currently with family. She invested a lot of love and time onto those chinchillas I'll be happy for her is she can get her "Noah's Ark" going again in the near future.

The GPF is at the end of this week, isn't it? Gosh, I have so many exams right now that I have lost my feeling for time. I just hope I get through this somehow :palmf: I can't wait for the weekend! Watching Alina would be my therapy after disastrous 14 days!! :yahoo:

ALL OF THE ABOVE FOR ME TOO [emoji26]

What happened to Adelina was so awful it's hard to even think about. I wondered if Adelina's experience was a factor in Alina's decision to limit her IG activity so drastically. She has never posted a picture of her OG medal. Or any other medal. Or one single podium. The only picture with a medal of any kind on her IG is one of Sabine.

Just 50 posts in how many years? That is not the norm for any teenage girl. She keeps us updated with a few stories every now and then that can't be commented on and disappear in 24 hours. She is very smart to protect herself like that.

This is another reason I am so thankful for Team Zagitova!

They are chin-chillin' like a couple of villains.

I crossed them off my list of suspects because they lost their internet privileges.
They were caught trying to download the Progressive Box commercial with "Rocco" the chinchilla.

What up Rocco????

Thanks to Alina figure skating at the peak of popularity in Russia,
at this moment, in Hrustalny is 15 candidates for 1 vacancy ,
base level for candidate — triple jumps ,
Alina will have a lot of competitors at the next Olympics :)

I like a moment from 0:15—0:22

They can be introduced to Masaru's manner teeth!

I was excited to hear about Alina's plans to move as well. I know she was gifted an apartment after Pyeongchang, but I'm not sure what happened to it (sold?) because we never heard about it again.

I watched some fluff on Plushenko the other day, and one of the first things he did when he started to medal and earn money was to move his family into an apartment he bought in St. Petersburg. It was really sweet, and I hope that one day, Alina can reunite with her family, too.

Those naughty chinchillas! They need to be sent to Eteri to whip them into shape.

Yes, mothers are fainting in the Sambo-70 halls after Eteri rejects their children. Things are getting out of control.

Alina is going to be their best chance to get another Olympic gold medal in ladies' skating. :agree2:

(I'm actually serious abut this, and if you disagree, please think twice about if this thread is the best place to say it.)

«In Alina We Trust» :yes2:

This gifted apartment in Izhevsk , in hometown

It depends solely on what Alina wants. If she has the goal to get another Olympic (Gold) Medal, she has all the goods to make it. We didn‘t exactly see the training process during the Olympic season but we saw the results. We saw how fast she improved comparing to her junior days. If she wants something, she will give it her everything and beyond and nothing less. Alina is talented, that‘s very obvious. And talent + dedication is a very dangerous mix... at least for her competitors. ;)

However there might also be the possibility that Alina will have enough after a few seasons, that she migh want to focus on other aspects life has to offer. She strikes me as a very determined young lady and I think you‘d all agree but I hope she never feels pressured by anyone to continue if that isn‘t what she herself truly wants.

Alina and Zhenya... they both hold a special spot in my heart and if I was allowed to wish for something in figure skating (I know I‘m not lol, I‘m just dreaming) it would be that we could see them at another Olympic Games. Like ... like it was this year in the team event. Just this time... no tears, no accusations and drama from media afterwards. I‘d just love to see my two favorite girls happy and proud, waving and smiling at the camera as they are holding up their newly achieved Olympic Medals, their grins showing clearly that they did it, that they just defied all the odds a female Russian skater could possibly defy this days - making TWO Olympic Games and medaling!

But that‘s admittedly... just a dream. And now I’m sad lol. I don‘t always want to talk about Zhenya in here, it‘s Alina‘s fanfest after all but it‘s just hard as a fan who absolutely adores both of them because you always feel like you‘re kind of torn apart. As a Zhenya fan I sometimes feel absolutely guilty even being in here, reading what people who are her supporters again wrote against Alina. It’s like I was one of those people simply by supporting Zhenya and it’s not... a good feeling at all. I wish I could just tell them to stop. It’s just too much. And especially so many months after the Olympics, to still read articles that Alina didn‘t deserve her OGM or whatever other bs. Can‘t people just be sad for Zhenya but accept that Alina just had a technically stronger performance? That she won and she won fair and square under the current rules? Why is that so hard? That‘s exactly why I wanted this Team Gold so badly. I‘m not a type for drama and I just prefer happy faces to all this stupid lies and hate and dispute. Especially not if it‘s against a girl who worked all her life and just won a freaking OLYMPIC Gold medal for your country! I mean, seriously. Whoever is writing these articles: Get it together! Now! Or I will buy myself an army of Akita Inu dogs, train them to read newspapers and use the shoe of every single journalist who writes something bad about her as a chew bone. (maybe with the foot still in it :dev3: )

Back to Alina‘s next Olympic Gold ;) I don‘t know how the odds for another Olympic Gold Medal are, frankly no one knows that and I won‘t be foolish enough to say she will absolutely do it when we just don‘t know what the future will bring. Just that she has the willpower and the fighting spirit which is absolutely necessary to succeed. If she wants it... then I say: go for it! Absolutely. If not: Well, we‘ll all still cheer her on whatever she decides to do in the end. It‘s her life and ultimately she is the ONLY one who should be allowed to make the decision. I‘m just glad to follow her journey, wherever it might lead her. :)

Fluture, you have a beautiful heart, and both girls are so lucky to have a fan like you. I feel lucky that you share your posts with us in this fanfest. And what are fan fests for if not to dream of our faves future (fluture!) happiness?

I have a slightly different take from Finley. I feel like we should feel free to not talk about Evgenia here. :)

I've said it before, I don't mind if posts relevant to Alina, and I know there are other posters, fellow Alina fans, who don't even want that much. But if you're talking about how much you want Evgenia to win Olympic gold, then yes, your thoughts, however kind and lovely, might be better put in Evgenia's own fanfest.

It is not my intention to be a killjoy or surly or rude, but this is Alina's space. Please, can we reserve it for Alina?

I completely agree with you, this is Alina's space. Please, can we reserve it for Alina?
