It depends solely on what Alina wants. If she has the goal to get another Olympic (Gold) Medal, she has all the goods to make it. We didn‘t exactly see the training process during the Olympic season but we saw the results. We saw how fast she improved comparing to her junior days. If she wants something, she will give it her everything and beyond and nothing less. Alina is talented, that‘s very obvious. And talent + dedication is a very dangerous mix... at least for her competitors.
However there might also be the possibility that Alina will have enough after a few seasons, that she migh want to focus on other aspects life has to offer. She strikes me as a very determined young lady and I think you‘d all agree but I hope she never feels pressured by anyone to continue if that isn‘t what she herself truly wants.
Alina and Zhenya... they both hold a special spot in my heart and if I was allowed to wish for something in figure skating (I know I‘m not lol, I‘m just dreaming) it would be that we could see them at another Olympic Games. Like ... like it was this year in the team event. Just this time... no tears, no accusations and drama from media afterwards. I‘d just love to see my two favorite girls happy and proud, waving and smiling at the camera as they are holding up their newly achieved Olympic Medals, their grins showing clearly that they did it, that they just defied all the odds a female Russian skater could possibly defy this days - making TWO Olympic Games and medaling!
But that‘s admittedly... just a dream. And now I’m sad lol. I don‘t always want to talk about Zhenya in here, it‘s Alina‘s fanfest after all but it‘s just hard as a fan who absolutely adores both of them because you always feel like you‘re kind of torn apart. As a Zhenya fan I sometimes feel absolutely guilty even being in here, reading what people who are her supporters again wrote against Alina. It’s like I was one of those people simply by supporting Zhenya and it’s not... a good feeling at all. I wish I could just tell them to stop. It’s just too much. And especially so many months after the Olympics, to still read articles that Alina didn‘t deserve her OGM or whatever other bs. Can‘t people just be sad for Zhenya but accept that Alina just had a technically stronger performance? That she won and she won fair and square under the current rules? Why is that so hard? That‘s exactly why I wanted this Team Gold so badly. I‘m not a type for drama and I just prefer happy faces to all this stupid lies and hate and dispute. Especially not if it‘s against a girl who worked all her life and just won a freaking OLYMPIC Gold medal for your country! I mean, seriously. Whoever is writing these articles: Get it together! Now! Or I will buy myself an army of Akita Inu dogs, train them to read newspapers and use the shoe of every single journalist who writes something bad about her as a chew bone. (maybe with the foot still in it :dev3: )
Back to Alina‘s next Olympic Gold

I don‘t know how the odds for another Olympic Gold Medal are, frankly no one knows that and I won‘t be foolish enough to say she will absolutely do it when we just don‘t know what the future will bring. Just that she has the willpower and the fighting spirit which is absolutely necessary to succeed. If she wants it... then I say: go for it! Absolutely. If not: Well, we‘ll all still cheer her on whatever she decides to do in the end. It‘s her life and ultimately she is the ONLY one who should be allowed to make the decision. I‘m just glad to follow her journey, wherever it might lead her.
