Thank you. Alina is a growing girl so 10 + hours in the train might not be good for her back. I hope the locals are thrilled to have the great figure skaters visiting they're far away city.

But I'm a little frustrated that Alina is in a car for over 10 hours whIle Zhenya has pracriced and is being paraded around like the queen of Saransk. Am I wrong for being frustrated by that?

What you missed was a bonus 3F3Lo combo, which was very prettily done. I like the new changes to the choreo sequence. Now just 2 positions with the biellman held longer. The 3lz is also looking very strong. Whatever was bothering her at gpf must’ve been ironed out.

:yahoo: Thank goodness, it seems she wasn‘t affected at all by the train ride. I still don‘t quite get why the others were already there but I won‘t complain as long as Alina is fine and ready to slay!
 
I have to respect a practice rink with hockey glass guards and a huge disco ball.

So great to see Alina laughing.

I want her to enjoy herself and have fun.
 
woww she did a 3flip-3loop combo on the first flip and put the double toe-double loop after the last one. I know t was just to practice in case she misses the triple loop, but to me the triple-double-double goes much better with the music at the end.

I'm sad Alina missed out on drawing the places, I loved Zhenya's dress and would love to have seen what she would've worn (side-note her costumes are my faves this season, the Carmen dress is just :love:).

My point is other skaters got practice in and attended the drawing while Alina was on a train for over 10 hours. I may be right I may be wrong I don't know but I would think the organizers at Nationals in this small town far away from the big cities in Russia would have loved to have had Olympic champion at the drawing ceremonies.

Ive already complained enough for the both of us! ;)

Hoping Alina has her best short program of the season. Going sevens maims her score should be huge after the first six have gone.

Probably... but this was the decision of the coaching team and we do not really know the reasons behind it. I suppose the coaching teams knows better what they do.

for sure.
it's better to think about Alina than about some organisers..
the less unwanted attention before the competition she get the better.

But her training mates were there a day or 2 ahead of Alina. And there is no reason to hide her from the media. Alina laughs them off. Russia has some bad reporters some gossip reporters she has enough people to protect her from that and she doesn't need to read any of that. she has laser focus and she's there to do her job and then speak to the media after the competition.
 
there're reasons. and really good reasons.
Her teammates don't receive that much hate and pressure from the media and other "so called experts".
And there're 1st channel who is paying for rights to stream ladies (JUST LADIES) practices. So it's a show. and somebody need to provid it. And her teammates helped with it.
While Alina got one more a low-stress day to practice at home.
 
Yea I think definitely there was a good reason for that decision. It look a little strange that she come last minute, but think about it. She was a little injured after GPF so probably need some special treatement, maybe a little training deficite could be there. That does not help. Also the fact that Zhenya is there. Everybody is putting them agains each other. That's hard for both to concentrate. They are just two very young girls who have a common history. What's more, both wanna prove something, Zhenya she is good enough after bad fall season, Alina that she is winner and trully deserve to win olympic gold. Junior ladies are there, the two of them with quads. There is a lot to handle for 16 year old girl. There will be extrem pressure. The atmosphere will be brutal. So yea, it can be a little risky arrive that late, but also it can help, and I think that there is more positive aspects then negative. Also Eteri was with her the whole time, she come with her, in train she spend time with Diana, so in friendly atmospehe. Trains are also not that bad, you can walk there, stretch a little .. it will be ok. :)
