so does this mean Sonya will 100% be on the world team?
I think for the worlds they will send the same team at the GPF

You were comparing how Evgenia could fix her technique and Alina could do the same, but you forgot to add how hard it was for Evgenia. I added what you lacked, like her consistence and her mental game. As you said Alina is strong, very, but compare her to Evgenia, (like you were doing at the beginning)
I just kept playing in the comparison game you created![]()
She doesn't need to change coach but her coach needs to change her method. It’s heartbreaking to see her doing well during practice until she can’t jump anymore. Alina doesn’t have the same stamina like last year, she’s growing and she’s older now.
I think her team will get rid off her during this summer. I suspect that they will put so much pressure on her in training (and what we have seen in yestderday training session will be nothing), that she will not be able to cope and she will either retire or move to another coach, although she would not want it, because she is attached to this team.
But this is the strategy of team Tutberidze. They get rid off the skaters that are not highly competitive (anymore) and they will have 3 new very skilled seniors next season so...
Yes, yes... it is just my opinion at this point of time - for the advocates of Eteri.
Don’t forget about carrot and stick , it works, and Alina know it..
not only carrots every day
I don't get this "Alina isn't strong mentally" discourse. I agree she doesn't have Medvedeva's iron-willed consistency, but she is a great competitor nonetheless. Just look at what she did at the Olympics: not only did she deliver three clean skates under tremendous pressure, but she added the lutz-loop combo in the individual free skate after missing it the first time. She was clearly exhausted at Worlds, so I don't really consider that a failure of her nerves. I agree she is struggling with pressure, but she always fights her way through her programs. I think she's more tenacious than people are giving her credit for.
If Alina wants to retire after this season, then that's her prerogative. She has accomplished what the vast majority of people can only dream of. But I think if she wants to continue, it's worth a shot.
I hope that we will not see her going the way like Yulia and others did.i hope she realises that no eating less and getting thinner and thinner won't work (at least not longterm) and that that method is dangerous and that it can turn ugly fast. I loved and still love Yulia and alina begins to remind me of her after her Olympics too. I really hope that alina doesn't begin to starve herself . She is already so thin and looks like she lost so much from RusNats to now. Please alina that is not the right way to drop so much weight.Seeing her result today it doesn’t work anymore. Rusnat was a warning and being under the 200 marks means something is wrong and it’s not about Alina.

Alina is taller , but not thinner, in a VERY good shape for figure skater..why are you starting this conversation again?
The major risk right now is that Alina may think of retirement, if leaved by Eteri, but it's something that we can easily see it happen at the end of this season. Eteri is not supporting her, she's just using her, because this season she haven't another choice.
What, or we better say "how", this is happening is 99% Eteri's fault, imho, but i think it's already inscribing all the **** she'll going to trow on Alina, when will be ready to leave her out (again).
Don't take this like a trolling rumbling. I think it's something very sad.
I'm more worried to have to see Alena's future on Eteri's hands than not, but we was talking about Alina, why put Alena on this ?Sorry, but I think that Alyona Kostornaya have no future in Eteri team, not Alina..
it’s not a trolling,but reality

I love her skating, she's got sass and consistency!Ok, then explain it.this is Russian ladies thread and we can talk about all of them, not only about Alina ..new conversation![]()

To me, Alena right now is the safe project of Eteri. They seem to be following a pattern on the others, put on them the most difficult things ever, like doing an experiment, without know at all for how much time that job will pay.
If i need to say who will have better chances to be able to do the same layout as now on the future, the response is Alena. Not because it's her, it's the layout itself to be more... "normal". She have different points of strength, and she's already gaining a lot of PCS because of that.
There's always the need of someone consistent, if who have an higher base value risk way more to mess around, and be out of medals.
Alina ? I'm not say it's done, and if i think she risk to retire is only because she have already won the olympics. What i think it's done is their working relationship. Eteri is renowned to put more fire on this kind of problems than be able, and care, to help.
