Alexandra Trusova

Few days ago during her latest interview Sasha mentioned she's in big trouble with only two major jumps: axel and loop.
Presuming triple axel which is quite important those days, and quad loop which she will likely never develop.

But having four or even three solid quads is OK for now. She can drop off and put in any set of quads per her today's conditions.

I've just updated Alexandra's OP. I've added all the results table, some more videos from this season and some links to interviews. Enjoy :)

Ok for now??
Even if it's only a consistent 4T and 3A next season that would be amazing.
Exactly. Unfortunately.

Sasha tends to lose and take back quads randomly. Nicely "jumping" from salchow to lutz, next to toe loop and in future, possibly, to flip. She did two 4T recently but this jump is almost equal to 3A. No gain.

Shcherbakova is more stable with her lutzes, but any immediate problem makes it more difficult to adjust.

Actually I think it is more beneficial to do two 4T than two 3A in the FS because of the combos you can do. For example Rika has a 3-3, 3-2,3-2-2 (repeats 3A and 3Lz) while Sasha has a 4-3, 3-3, 3-1-3 (repeats 4T, and 3Lz) which I think would end up with a higher base value if everyone was clean and got their levels.

Personally I find Sasha to be much more stable in her quads than Anna.

At the same time, Sasha still has to do a 2A. In the end, we're comparing:
4T
4T+3T
2A
2A
3Lz+3Lo
3Lz+Eu+3S
3F

with

3A+3T
3A
3Lo
3Lz+2T
3F
3Lz+2T+2Lo
3S

Differences in jumps? 2x4T, 2x2A, Eu vs 2x3A, 2x2T, 2Lo.

Sasha does indeed win out on this one; 2x4T + 2x2A + Eu = 2x9.5 + 2x3.3 + 0.5 = 26.1, vs 2x3A + 2x2T + 2Lo = 2x8 + 2x1.3 + 1.7 = 20.3.
Theoretically, Rika could do
3Lz+3Lo
3Lz+Eu+3S
2A
2A
much like Sasha, in which case the comparison would then be 2x4T vs 2x3A, or 19 vs 16. Not much of a difference anymore, and it mostly comes down to execution now. However, the 4T, compared to the 3A, does not change what combos you can do. Rika just doesn't do the same ones yet. You bet when Rika gets both her quads, she's going to be mostly copying Sasha's current jump layout with 2x3As.

I just checked planned content and Sasha will go to three quads(4Lz-3T,4Lz,4T). It's a really huge risk and I'm starting to get nervous.

Yep.... Swan song?

As it going with TUT girls those days it may be her last attempt to make Wow!

You seem overly pessimistic about this. Nothing indicates she thinks it's her last attempt at anything. I'm sure she's aiming to make the biggest splash in her sennior debut season.

Sure when Sasha discovered her main concurrent now (Anna Shcherbakova) included 4Lz+3T and 4Lz solo she immediately reared up.
To be seen...

I just wonder if it's a better idea to repeat the 4T instead of the 4Lz, given that's been a more stable jump for her.

Depends on what does she want?
To win WJC or to edit another Wiki article?

I think she wants both and is likely to get both. Imo Sasha is more likely to land at least one of her quads (if not more) than anna who seems less stable to me. Without Alena there I think Sasha would need a really poor showing not to win. If anything I am more worried for her health with this set up rather than her ability to get the gold

After the Nats had enough time to gain a better shape. I want to be optimistic. Waiting for fascinating rivalry of Sasha and Anna, clean skates and amazing results.

She just doesn't need 4S because she's not competing with Nathan Chen. Two types of quads enough for this season 4T(as the most stable) and 4lz(for history). By the way she showed 4S in practice of Lithuanian JGP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBSZZKzcFok

 I thought she would do 4S because of points but the difference is so small and she's like, her own rival so there's really no need for it. And yeah, the 4T seems more stable I guess. :agree:
I wish her good luck at JW! :points:

why are there so many subtle and not so subtle jabs at sasha's abilities and future in her fanfest :scratch2:

i don't mind speculation about why she's doing certain jumps and not others but if you wanna talk about if jwc will be her swan song you can that in the edge
