I can't believe that Worlds are already next week! :eeking:

Guys I just came back from Zagreb and I wanted to tell you that one evening, on our way home from the ice skating rink, we've met no other but our beloved choreographer Daniil Markovich Gleichengauz :love: Of course we stopped, I was trembling, but asked him if he wants to take a photo with me. He was very kind and said yes. Afterwards I told him how a great choreographer he is, and to say hi to Alina from me. That we will forever cheer for her, that she is amazing and that we wish her to win Worlds. He said he will, I just hope he'll tell her how loved and appreciated she is!

When will Alina and crew ( the whole of #TeamTutberidze I suppose ) leave for Japan? Any need to shed jet lag and acclimatise, by arriving a few days before official training starts and lay over at some friendly rink?

Most likely they’ll arrive on Monday

Probably even on Tuesday imo, but not a chance they arrive earlier, Alina said they won’t coz they never do.

OK, just wondering, because some people are more susceptible to jet lag than others. And of course you can start adjusting to the different clock at home early. It is still early spring in Japan, so no temperature shock and chance of catching a cold.

Well Alina definitely the one who needs time to adjust, she needed it during GPF (as we know she couldn’t sleep at all, felt weird and like she was really tired) and after for national championship but it’s not like it’s gonna happen, her coaches are busy people with too many students. It’s easier to perform for Alina when it’s early than when it’s late, so time change isn’t that bad i guess.

ISU pays the expenses fees for each participant and their coach but it starts one day before the training session so no one will come earlier because you have to pay for with your own money.

Obviously, according to the official schedule and rules of accommodation, the LOC doesn't pay for early arrivers.
But many athletes in many sports that come from very far away arrive a couple of days earlier and lay over at their own expense to get acclimatised etc. Having friendly contacts with rinks, gyms, clubs or whatever means it doesn't have to cost a fortune, and one can even have the trainers giving some clinics etc to benefit the hosting club. But if FFKKR decides on no early departures for JPN, we respect their decision.
