2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Apologies, as I imagine this has been covered before, but I dug around and found some conflicting answers. Which of Eteri's youngest skaters will and won't be Olympics eligible in 2022?

Will:
- Alexandra Trusova
- Anna Shcherbakova
- Alena Kostornaia
- Kamila Valieva
- Daria Usacheva
- Maya Khromykh
- Alena Kanysheva
- Ksenia Chistyakova

Won’t:
- Sofia Akatieva (sadly)
- Veronika Zhilina

I wouldn't be surprised if Eteri deleted Zhenya's text messages herself . have you seen her vk and Instagram accounts where she deletes everything she doesn't like??? lool

I think all of these accounts-both athletes and coaches-are managed by an outside party/agency?

Thank you! And props for your thoroughness in including Alena Kanysheva. (Speaking of, have folks come to agreement on how best to abbreviate her name versus Kostornaia's name? Alena and Alena K. are obviously non-options. Also, at one point do the 3As becomes 4As? Or did we always have 4As, with Alina, and now have 5As? In my heart, I think it will always remain 3A, though.)

I'm not too familiar with Veronika, but that's too bad on Sofia A. Also, speaking of Sofias, she's not an Eteri girl - yet! - but will Sofia Samodelkina be eligible in 2022?

The thing is no one in Russia blame Zhenya for swithing to canadian coach. It's about HOW it was done. Russian "casual" fans have only one "traitor", and it's Misha who is here to be blamed for the Olympic silver (instead of gold) to the end of his life.
Casual audience was already quite irritated by Zhenya, when she still was considered part of the Khrystalny. Because of how she was treated compared to the actual Olympic champion. Zhenya was everywhere and Alina never even was interviewed. And then quite a bad brake-up happened. If only Zhenya's PR-team was wiser...

Judging by their instagram activity and interviews - I am 100% sure they will not return. Pogo is going to enjoy her newlyweds life and thinks about coaching career. Radi through her fs tv commentator job realized already she has zero chances to get to national team when she saw modern russian ladies competition and tech level in all its glory - which is apparent by her own remarks. So, yeah.. :rolleye:
Still, candidates for gp spots field is pretty much crowded even without them. As for national team - I wouldn't be surprised to see that RusFed will decide to make two separate teams (one for Euro and one for Worlds) as situtation with competition level in RusNat will become ridiculous.

Russia finished first 3rd and 8th in the recent World championships so they should have more than three spots next year. What happened to the spot lost by Canada? That should go to the Russians on merit alone.

Possibly. But the competition will be even great nexr season. Much greater because of 3a.

Yes, and hopefully none of them will leave Eteri after the season, so it's more likely there won't be such disasters at GP as this season.. ;)

Does someone know where will the next Russian Nationals be held? I went to the fsrussia page, but I could only find info about competitions in April the latest.

IS it confirmed that Trusova, Kostarnaia and Shcherbakova will be moving up to senior?

I would think Trusova and Kostarnaia are senior ready but not sure with Shcherbakova. But then agaian she has the 4Lz so technically she is very competitive.

RusFed will know it only in summer and you gonna find info even earlier? :eeking:

Nah it was me who wanted to know
I thought they'd know by now. I'd like to try to actually attend it :D

Any news about Pogorilaya? I really want to watch her competition again, the Frida Long program must be a masterpiece, but we've never seen it even for once.
