Alina Zagitova

Alina has such a busy schedule these days. She was still training the day before Mishin show (many other skaters flew a few days earlier), she flies to SPb on the day of she show, performs, flies back the same day and has IA next day.

That must be quite exhausting, but at 18 I had boundless energy and could go on and on only sleeping for a few hours. So far, I’m glad to see that she has her so much going on for her. A lot athletes find themselves in a different position, where demand for them isn’t quite big, if they’re not actively competing, and Alina has so many opportunities and offers.

But as a fan, I am still holding out hope for at least one more competition with her :)
I’m very happy to see that she’s doing fine. Sure I would like to see her compete but it means stress, risking injuries and I don’t think she could bear or endure the amont of work after such a long break. She doesn’t need it, she’s an established athlete and the doors is opening for her. Most of the athletes would end their career after worlds or olympics but I’m glad, Alina still goes on.

and a short interview between two IA shows:

Russian figure skater Alina Zagitova, who performed at the Ice Age show on March 7, where she presented a program to "Will I Make It Out Alive", answered journalists' questions. Sport24 correspondent Konstantin Lesik reports from the scene.

- It was very exciting to perform, because you can't re-record anything. At the same time it was crucial to charge everyone with our energy. I think I managed it.

- Alexey Yagudin said that you are addressing him with “You” (formal/respectful patronymic), but are you friends with someone from the project and call them “you” (casual)?
- I am friends with everyone, but I use "You" with people whom I respect, who are older than me. They all say, “let's switch to more casual address,” but I refuse.

- Would you like to try yourself as a participant in the "Ice Age"?
- It will be more difficult for a singles skater. When you are in pairs, you already know what to do, how to climb on a partner. For professional men, it's easy to throw a partner. It will be more difficult for me. Let's see what happens.

- How do you feel working with Alexey Yagudin?
- We immediately found contact, so it's easy.

- Just yesterday you performed in the Alexei Mishin show, isn't it hard - two shows a day?
- It's hard to stand in skates now, because I've been in them for three hours already. Otherwise, it’s not hard. Already accustomed.

- Do you have a favourite number in "Ice Age"?
- All of them are probably my favourites. It seems to me that everyone will find a number that reflects it. They are different and delicious at the same time.

- When did you start watching Ice Age yourself?
- I watched fragments, I was not so fond of figure skating, I just practiced, but did not watch a lot on TV. It probably started in 2014.

- Are you already accustomed to the role of the host?
- Yes, I think I'm completely like a fish in the water. Naturally, I'm nervous, especially today - no chance to re-record anything, you need to charge the audience so that they cheer up and everyone likes it. Hope everyone is happy.

- Where are you more comfortable - on or off the ice?
- On ice. (laughs)

- Can I ask you about the main event of the week? At the skating rink where you train ...
Zagitova smiled in response to the question and shook her head.

Smart girl.
I don’t know why journalists want her to meddle in someone else´s affairs. She has no time for others’s drama. I remember she was asked the same thing after Zhenia´s departure for Orser.
