2021-2022 U.S. Men's Figure Skating

This video is being highlighted by several noted figure skating accounts.

The technical trajectory over the past year is astonishing. Other elements - spins, footwork - also improving rapidly. Components also improving.

Lost in the hubbub of these recent combinations he's posted - he apparently has enough control over that 4T to add another 4T or an Eu-4S, or a 4Lp on the back end. It's not just one combo, he can control that 4T enough to do any one of three never-been-done jumping passes.

Lots of questions remain. How much remaining physical growth will come? Can he stay healthy and motivated? Will the pressure become too much?

But, there's no denying that he has the potential to dominate very very soon. Everything is just getting better with his skating.

Both his parents are small people. He seems to be slightly taller than his father already, but he probably won't grow to the height that Roman Sadovsky and Stephen Gogolev have.

Parasaurolophus is herbivorous. They probably won't "eat" him. And from Japanese twits Nathan had finished his practice so he must have passed the initial and daily covid tests. He is much safer in the Olympic loop than at his rink in Irvine.
What is the deal with the dinosaurs? I don’t get it.

It is an ad for the new Jurassic movie. Nathan is skating, dinosaurs are appearing, dinosaurs go away. My understanding is there are other commercials where the dinosaurs encounter Olympians.

And even though it makes zero sense, Nathan is as chill as chill can be.

I love this team! I do feel bad for Will but I adore Lucas's skating, Liam's 3A is a dream, and Ilia is Ilia. JWorlds this year might actually be more interesting than senior Worlds... :slink:
Honestly yes, the men's event at worlds (post olympics) in Montpellier could be a complete splat fest again like in 2018.

Heartbreaking for him.

I get that he's not a fan favorite, but this kid worked his tail off for years for this moment. Gutted for him, praying for the rest.
He may not be a favorite of mine, but I have to agree with your sentiments. Seeing his work ethic in Las Vegas last year really taught me a lesson about the importance of hard work. I do hope he gets well soon and is consoled by the fact that he helped the US team get a silver medal. 🙏
