2024 Challenge Cup | Feb 22-25

I wonder why Daria/Michel (pairs) are no longer scheduled to compete here. Daria Danilova has just become a Dutch woman last week so I would think it would be a kind of celebratory competition. Sad, I like watching them. Good to see Sara Conti/Niccolo Machi and Lucrezia Beccari/Matteo Guarise will be here though.

Michel had injured his shoulder at Euros. It was still bothering him at Bavarian Open, so they took a few weeks off to heal. They’ve started training again but are not ready for this competition so will focus on Worlds.

Thank you. I found out from Anything goes and it was exactly that (you could see in his face at BO that he was hurting but I didn't know what it was). Let's hope he heals well so they will participate at world's! Today they published it at our home website. Lindsay is not coming either:

I hope not. According to her coaches she's all for working to get to Milan! Doesn't sound like retirement to me.

I hope it too, but I doubt it. She is very impulsive. As what I have seen. Milan is very far away btw, and her skates (this entire season) have the IT factor for me at the moment. Even though I loved her skates in the Olympic season, she had such a fun twist in her jumps. But it feels empty now… that’s why I think Beijing came too early, and maybe also she needs to have a professional staff

Hmm, so Hugo Herrman is now a sub, and Robert Wildt is entered instead in Junior Men. I wonder if something is up with Hugo? He had a quite disastrous FS at German Junior Nationals due to a broken boot and I believe another competition before JWC wouldn't hurt for his self confidence. He had also withdrawn from Bavarian Open.

All other skaters/teams going to WJCh have withdrawn too, so I wouldn't worry about his withdrawal here

There is no free stream regrettably. Going in person is for free, watching by live-stream will cost you. A pity for everyone who is watching from a bit further away, but that's the situation.

I know having a pay stream is new for the organisers, but you would have thought that they would have had the prices displayed on the streaming homepage. Unless they have them on a different page on the event website, it means that people have to register / log in before they find out the price. And that isn't really good practice.

But, they're only learning.

EDIT: I just scrolled down the page past the links for each day's stream, and saw the prices there. I'm an idiot. ​
