Hi everybody. I paid a visit to the Challenge Cup yesterday evening (departed from work a little early) and watched both junior (only 4 couples) and senior Ice Dance. Lots of SB's for the Rhythm Dances, so most had an excellent outing. The numbers 1 (Loicia Demougeot and Theo le Marcier, FRA), 2 (Olivia Smart and Tim Dieck, ESP) and 3 (Alicia Fabbri and Paul Ayer, CAN) seemed to be in the right place. All three with more than 70 points. It meant that Alicia and Paul remained in first place for a long time as they skated much earlier. So a little hurrah for them especially. Free Dance this evening. And the SP of the men at the end of the afternoon. I'm going to leave work even earlier because I wish to watch that as well!
 
And that was actually part of a Novice girls double-bill, because the Advanced Novice girls that were doing their Short Programmes yesterday now return to conclude their campaign (the boys return tomorrow). 24 girls, arranged into three groups of 8.

(I dont know where the better spectator seat though... Any tips?)

Still there? I don't see any salmon folded jackets!
 
Just watched the men SP. Both Japanese men did well, 1 in first, the other in 3rd. Both popular. A pity Kazuki missed his first quad but the rest was great. Such a sportsman. Applauding his teammate. The Kazach Shaiderov in 2nd. Skated well also, but less imaginative. A pity the Canadian also had some misses. Nikita did well. And so did Dillon Judge (who was the first to skate) if not up to the level yet.
 
After a double-bill of chaos, it is time to recover with a Free Dance double-bill. A group of 4 Junior partnerships; followed by 14 Senior partnerships.

Junior FD was nice to watch. But no scores, though they can be foundation on the results page. No surprises: the same order as yesterday. Barbara wasn't wearing her stopwatch today (she did yesterday) but she can be pleased with the results.
