Should I keep posting my impression too, or is your PBP enough? I just figured since I'm lucky enough to get this channel on FIOS I figured I would add my thoughts.

D/B

2 Twist - good
SBS 3 Toes - landed but barely
Lift - ok
SBS spins - bad unison
Combo spin - good
spiral - eh
Throw 3 Flip - very good!
Death spiral - ok

Potentially more compelling than with his last partner. Good speed.

There's a streaming of Russian TV on DAUM. It's a bit shaky, but I think it'll pick up with time

I'm watching this on Universal Sports with no commentary. I will try to provide some info as well. French team is on the ice. Duhamel/Buntin had a throw triple lutz near the end of their program and are in first place.

They got low components (Duhamel/Butin). But the program seemed a bit rushed, a bit aimless, the choreography (except for the spiral sequence that was really good) is a bit blank too - they had speed and power though.

Geez, the French couple is very flexible...

Considering the shoulder injury Craig's coming off of and how that affects their summer training, this sounds like an excellent start to their season.

The Chinese were ok. She had a really bad fall on the side by side triple toe, like literally spralled out across the ice.

The other elements were completed, and they actually had decent SBS spins.

Next group on the ice.

Shame about the fall from Wang; they were actually my favorite so far (other than Duhamel/Butin) and I think they'd have been first if not for the fall.

They have something special about them IMO.

Yes it's starting now.

Or not...The schedule on icenetwork says 10 pm but apparently that is also including the opening performances...did they do this for the compulsory as well?

I don't know how Skate America runs but the Compulsary dances are always before the "opening ceremonies" of US Nationals... so if that's what "opening performances" is for SA my guess is - no they didn't have anything before the CD today.

Second group is now taking the ice for warm-up

Inoue/Baldwin - Costumes are grey and yellow
McLaughlin/Brubaker - Black, her dress has blue floral as well
Mukhortova/Trankov - he's in black, her dress is tan/flesh colored with bright sparkly design on front
Savchenko/Szolkowy - She's in pink with pink legwarmers or covers to make it look like boots, he's in light purple that's very shiny.

warm-up now over - Inoue/Baldwin will be first to skate

Ah, thank you for that explanation. I wasn't aware of that before.

no problem :) it confused me the first time I attended nationals because it felt weird having the ceremonies in the middle of the competition... and I still feel that the CDs should come AFTER the ceremonies as they ARE an important part of the dance competition!
