I have a list of skaters I'd like to see get a haircut.

1. Reynolds-You can barely see his face with that hairstyle and it looks very immature for a senior skater (but that's just me). He would look a little older with something shorter.
2- Johnny-Too long. I liked how his hair looked at Worlds way more. This isn't flattering, and even makes him look a bit frail IMO.
3-Upenski-A little too long and again, gets in his face too much. Not as bad as the top 2 though.
4-Adam-I think his isn't as bad as the others, but still too long for my liking. Maybe if he was going to have had curly hair for the LP, but he didn't. So haircut please.

:)

I am sick of men wearing make up too.

Look how close Reynolds and Sawyer are. That's with Reynolds doing two quads, one of which was in combination.

On a final note, I am shocked at how much Kevin Reynolds has improved. I didn't stop watching him tonight and actually enjoyed him, so kudos.

I never imagined a day when Sawyer would beat Lysacek in the TES...

Too bad Evan (probably) lost track of the number of combo jumps, but I really really enjoyed his program. What's great is that Evan seemed to be enjoying himself skating to this program especially towards the end.

Johnny's program is champion music. It will be commanding when he gets on top of it. Excellent choice. I also love the costume. He is channelling Yagudin.

Let Evan keep his and the "black Christmas tree" outfit. Johnny will beat him all season. Bad me! The "wings" do flatter his upper body (his arms are so long and thin). But the sequins ... on the guy who used to make fun of Johnny's costumes? This is totally Liberace.

Great competition, great audience. Thanks to Universal Sports for showing the final groups whole and covering the whole competition.

He looks like a black Christmas tree.

ahahahahaha. funny.

to answer the question though, his costume was like a waiter's uniform(white shirt, black slacks, black waistcoat, sparkly red bow-tie) topped off with a woman's sequined shrug with bat wings. seriously, like something a drag queen would wear on stage (just the shrug).

i wish johnny and evan ould come out clean-shaven. maybe they think it looks manly, but it just looks sloppy and wierd. doesn't even fit the character they're skating to, or the rest of their costume. lather up and shave!

I read somewhere that Yuka Sato, Kozuka's choreographer, said that simplicity would make him stand out among all the tripped out costumes.

I am loving Yuka as a choreographer. She did fabulous work with Takahiko.

does anybody know what "!" on the protocols means? thank you so much in advance :)
IV. Clarification of evaluating the Flip and Lutz jumps
1. The Technical Panel will use the sign "e" (edge) for severe cases of wrong take-off edge (long wrong edge, no correct edge at all etc.); in these cases GOE of the Judges must be reduced by -1 to -3 and must be negative.
2. The Technical Panel will use the sign "!" (attention) in cases when a wrong take-off edge is short or not so obvious; in these cases the decision on the GOE is at the discretion of every Judge.

I do too! I so hope that he will stay with this coaching team and not turn into another Japanese Morosovian!

Rosee, who is that in your avatar.

By the way, Frank Caroll is emulating Tim in Evan TOO MUCH, (which is one of the reasons I dislike Evan, he pushed Tim out to make room for Evan) with Rhapsody in Blue, after Tim did American in Paris, (my favorite skating program of all time). The costume is even worse in movement the sagging sleeves covered in sequins just accents the arm flalling.

Yuka Sato definitely knows what she's talking about! I agree 100%; I'd rather see a plain outfit that doesn't distract and or detract from the overall effect of the program...than to see someone look like a black Christmas tree (as Medusa put it:laugh:) which causes me to be almost entirely unable to see what they're actually doing.

I just went back and skimmed through other posters' opinions and found it really surprising so many people had found Evan's program aweful. I understand this program doesn't fit Evan's style "naturally" but I think this program had more personality than any of Evan's previous programs, and compared with how Johnny skated today Evan had more spark. I guess I am the only person in the world who enjoyed it.

On the technical side I think it's about time Evan should seriously work on his often underrotated 3A.

Don't worry, I'm sure Evan's mom enjoyed it too.
