2025 U.S. Nationals Senior Free Dance

Really interesting the Browns choose to "backload" their step sequences - those are easily the hardest parts of the free dance and so difficult to do on tired legs. They might earn more GOE and levels by doing them early, but I think it works very well from a musical standpoint and it really shows off their skating stamina. Perhaps a little tight today, but their RD lead should keep them very narrowly ahead of Bratti/Somerville - this was a huge program for the two of them to move up in US ice dance and a really commendable effort.

Love the slide, the intricacies of the elements and transitions.

I don't love the Who ( teen aaage waste laaand) but I still love this program.

I think Gabby is doing a fine job. She’s actually pointing out technical details about the skaters and their programs and giving interesting perspectives.

I see more of the lilt and swing of Irish dance in that program than I did in either of the Riverdance short programs we saw in Ladies the other day

I feel this program is not as strong a vehicle as the RD dance for the Browns. They skated very well today but I think they will fall behind Bratti & Somerville for this segment. The Browns had a big lead though and show be first overall.

also when it's that close... between the top team of the previous groups... and the lowest team of the final flight.. you gotta wonder if the scoring may have swayed the other way if the flights had been skated and judged back to back

I love the choreography of this G/P program. They do modern extremely well. I adore the way they move throughout.
