Interesting field of junior women. Gao Shiqi looked very strong at recent chinese interclub league event I wonder if she can make podium in Turkiye. Other strong contendors are Arina, Stefania, Haruna, Mayuko, Yujie, Leandra, Sophie Joline. Pretty packed as usually but also it's quite open to any of them to take a win.

found Dmitrova/Riabtsev on OOC at belarus final cup in 24-25 they scored 95.10, and were listed as representing Russia, so they must have switched to bulgaria during the transfers this may https://figure.skating.by/competition/2024-25/Belarus_Open_Cup_Final/CAT007RS.htm

Hard to pick 5th spot for women, though I really want Kalugina, but the scores are so, so close and forks are so wide. Lol.

I do but I still dont understand why the US, for instance, would have 11 plus substitutes for ladies....? OK, in the state of WA right now, covid is medium but very high in the waste water of Spokane. So, if someone doesnt make it, do they just go down the list and see who is well and who wants to come? better carry that cell phone...

As mentioned in other threads : for the JGP series, spots do not belong to skaters. They belong to each Fed. Each Fed usually has a pool of skaters they would like to get JGP assignments. As these skaters are young, and in different stages of development, the FED then decides who is readiest to attend each event. Having the pool of substitutes allows the fed to switch around skaters originally nominated depending on various factors. If a skater for instance performs very well and has a chance of a JGPF berth, they may then substitute another skater who had originally been given that assignment and vice versa. It goes further : some feds will look at entry lists and see where to put their skaters based on the opposition offered by other countries. In that sense US Fed is playing its game quite well.

Whats really nice about this list is I can copy and paste it into a word doc, then highlight the must see skaters in yellow.

As mentioned in other threads : for the JGP series, spots do not belong to skaters. They belong to each Fed. Each Fed usually has a pool of skaters they would like to get JGP assignments. As these skaters are young, and in different stages of development, the FED then decides who is readiest to attend each event. I began to see your point while listening to the two commentators in the ladies short and free.....ie "Will this or that person get a second assignment."
