A nail artist inspired by Alysa
There's been a lot of that (nail artists being inspired by costumes) for years, I think it's adorable.

A nail artist inspired by Alysa
And this post tells you about how Olympic success can become success for your sport.
Hilary Knight is already impacting professional women's hockey.
Let's hope Madison and Alysa can do the same.
Is gen Z paying much attention to Oscars tho?Gen Zs make an exception though. This generation basically grew up without any significant "figure skating big" popular culture experience and they can build their impressions from zero. So their impression of "figure skating big" will start with Alysa at Oscars and PinkPantheress on top of the charts.
As for figure skating, there are generations that have preconceptions about how figure skating was when it was big. Want or not, the comparison will always be here.

Oh, and Lucky Charms of course![]()

If it's covered by Teen Vogue then I guess they do:Is gen Z paying much attention to Oscars tho?![]()
Whole post
) in the public eye long past the time they were interested in "truly" competing.I think that the biggest reason was that these were the years when the Olympic Games were fully discarding the old class-based distinction between amateur (lords and ladies) and professional (people who work for a living). ISU President Ottavio Cinquata got greedy and tried to take over both, with, in my opinion, both suffering in the attempt. The pro competitions stopped. No idea why.

The author's take on the difference between Alysa and others in the game:Teen Vogue has another Alysa piece, an op-ed

Alysa Liu Is the Unapologetic Alt Ice Skater I Always Wanted to See
In this op-ed, writer and comedian Lauren Servideo reflects on her love of ice skating and what 20-year-old Alysa Liu and her alt style mean to the sport.www.teenvogue.com
"a skater’s goal isn’t to stand out with a unique aesthetic point of view, but to embody a wintry model-mannequin of snow globe-like perfection."
"She’s so good that she is no longer bound by skating’s stylistic status quo"
Who cares?*Has* the author of this article ever watched modern skating if she believes this?
It is rather ridiculous to be positioning Alysa Liu as, I have to sum up the article quite simply, "not like the other girls".
I think the author is up front about her preconceptions:*Has* the author of this article ever watched modern skating if she believes this?
I'd guess that the people who care about the sport being popular care?Who cares?
While I'm not a reader, I'd bet that Teen Vogue is not well known as a publication featuring indepth research and expert analysis and commentary on any topic outside of fashion.*Has* the author of this article ever watched modern skating if she believes this?

Does that mean that the issue with Alysa on the cover will be the last? An instant collector's item!![]()
What the closure of Teen Vogue means for journalism.
Condé Nast folded a beloved magazine that treated youth and feminism as political topics, not trends.www.cjr.org
Oh, it was just a reply to the poster above mine. It just meant that Teen Vogue is no longer an independent publication but now operates as part of the main Vogue brand.Does that mean that the issue with Alysa on the cover will be the last? An instant collector's item!![]()

. Will it happen? Who knows.
