Mens' LP

Har? Canadian and scrapping choreography? Where is the logic here? She's Russian and therefore she doesn't mind scrapped choreography.

This isn't the first time it has happened. Sasha's Swan Lake was redone (butchered) by Robin Wagner.

I think Lori does mind that a lot.

Oh God... Brian... My heart is broken.... Let's see... Another world champion without quad... I don't think this is good for sport... 10 (!!!!) years ago men's programs were so much more difficult than now, what's going on?.. I just hope that Plushenko will be back and we will not see olimpic champion without quad. And I still believe in Brian!

The announcer has to plead with the audience for more applause for the champions. :frown2:

The dance event is going to suck.

Heh. Abbott's 3As weren't downgraded. The 3Lz was.

And I thought again about the thing with Evan's 3As: the uproar if Evan had lost because of the downgrades of the 3As would have been huge. That would have been a whole new ISU crisis.

But Brian can't say anything about the 3As, because I actually thought that his second one looked borderline, too.

IMO 10 years ago mens JUMPS were more difficult. Their programs are 100 times more difficult now. Big difference.

I don't always agree with Brian, but I do feel for him. He wanted it so bad and went after it (though without as many quads as promised). But I think the overall result was spot on. 123 are how they should be IMO. Though I think Patrick should have had higher PCS than Evan... Bit a result I actually agree with!

And for those questioning Evan's 3As, in my opinion at least (for what it's worth) in the replays I saw on cbc.ca, they looked rotated.

BRIAN JOUBERT IS A FIGHTER!!!! He is not going to let this get to him, and all of this nonsense about Plushy coming back NO WAY, he is done, he would have to give up his tour amongst other things NO WAY. Brian is going to come back next season and KICK TUSHY!!!!

Chan's TES must have been much lower.

Now thast Evan is a world champ, is he going to retire and turn pro this year?

I think he should...I don't think he can follow this in Vancouver...seriously, this is almost like his adrenaline kicking in cause he was pissed at his National.

Kick the tushy of the Plushy.

Looking at the PCS scores, I am (unpleasantly) surprised that both Joubert and Lysacek beat Chan on transitions. Seriously, judges? Seriously?

Either the judges are smoking something suspicious, or I somehow missed Joubert and Lysacek's transition-laden programs...

Brian had the quad but it was not enough. His unfortunate fall at the end of the program and a couple of other mistakes. Sorry but Brian was out-skated by Evan and Patrick. The judges got it right. That said Congratulations to Evan, Patrick and Brian.

Brian would have probably won, if he hadn't made mistakes. He didn't need more Quads. He lost about 4 points on the Axel step-out, another 4 points on the 2A fall.
He didn't even need to max out his jumps (he only had two combos). Those two mistakes alone cost him the title.

So happy for Evan! He's waited a long time for this. I don't love his skating, but you can never count this guy out. I can't believe Evan just won Worlds!

Gosh, Brian really threw it away though. Poor guy. That fall with surely haunt him for a while. And even though he didn't skate clean, Patrick was fantastic, as usual, and a silver medal is still awesome And finally, I feel bad for Abbott. He really underachieved here and it's too bad.

I think this is the first Chan lost PCS to both Lysack and Joubert. Go figure!

Chan could have won it if it's not for that short program....and it sux that costs 3 spots for Canada in Vancouver.

Chan and Ten in 2010!!!
