Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Of course not, but as I said in my previous post, thinking what to do with accounting is Mr. Cinquanta`s business.
I must have missed the meaning somewhere, it was still too early and coffeeless for me..;)I m sorry:yes:
But still plush had a lot of wins in his carrer and has fought for them, not all ..but well..:rolleye:The other 3 Olympic Champions you mentioned won on the previous system, and Boitano and Yag had a threatening opponent on the same competition.
We will never know which path they would use now anyway.:) Thats what i mean different times, different circumstances.
My guess is that next Olympic Champion will also calculate his points on ice ...unless he is Oda

I think the fans, like me, were disappointed in the performance portion of his 2006Oly skate. I believe him to be a much better competitor than what he displayed.
how i missed this, joe you were plushy fan?:);)

Plushenko is in Tartu now, you can see him jumping in this video. Very nice jumps I may say.
Looks very good. I never liked his Triple Axel much (I prefer the Axel Urmanov / Petrenko / Yagudin - style or Weir / D. Ten / Kozuka - style. Plushenko's, and Joubert's for that matter, Axels always look like: we can rotate and land this jump, but it's not really pretty), the one in the video was one of his better ones.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of Evgeni, but I do respect his competitiveness. His programs, for me, all look the same and in 2006 I expected that, but instead I viewed a slower more careful performance. I've never objected to his win of the Olys given the lackluster performances of the field, but neither was I thrilled with Evgeni's performance as I was for Yagudin's' and other Oly winners.

I do hope he skates better this time around and not like what I've been seeing on recent youtubes.

aaa too bad Joe, we could have made a nice plushy team together!:p
but i liked your post!:)

wow plushy jumped a big axel! he finishes the jump before coming down on earth!
Medusa my fav plushy jump is his axel:laugh: and the lutz, but the axel is what I love more :o, it is like he swirls in it! I wish he could jump a dozen in his programs, I like the height he gets, his position on the air and he extention when he lands it!

Ugh - he nearly always leans in the air. And his landing isn't crisp, it's heavy and has this "uff"-effect.

I show you how those Axels need to look like:
Urmy (at 1:03)
Lesha Yagudin (at 1:22)
Petrenko (at 0:20 and 0:43)
The SuperTen (at 0:48 and 1:05)
Johnny (at 0:56)
Nobu (at 0:30)
Taka (at1:00)
Dai (at 1:00)

:p
practice torino around 1.30'!
Tosca Rn around 1'!
Tosca Olympics1.15'!
Godfather axel
oh i could find a bunch more!:o

although i know what you mean leans it, something i liked about plushy is that sometimes he could save jumps that were otherwise destined to splat!

thank you for all videos, yags was awesomeeeee!I dont like weir's axel, i dont like the kick and how the free leg follows.

what is uff effect!?

"Uff" is a sound we make in some parts of Germany when something is especially difficult or tiring. Or if we have to carry something heavy, we would say "Uff, that's a heavy box."

And that's how Plushenko's Axel looks, it looks heavy, the landing is average (you might not like Weir's entrance, but the landing is heavenly), it looks tired. Joubert's doesn't look as tired, more like "Yes, once again, just one fifth short of rotation".

I always liked Urmy. Sure, he was a major headcase - but the sureness in his jumps, the unique style, the extension.

oh medusa i think i was watching a different skater, The first think I noticed in plush once upon a time were his take offs and landings, i ve never felt plush had heavy jumps and i like his landings, the position of his back and leg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmT5g_hSU4E around 1.30-40, especially the axels and lutzs, he lands them and just ..goes ahead..:p To me they always looked solid (is that right word?) on air, covering a large distance on the ice and his landings are so secure, I question sometimes his quad which was bizarre, but the time i said plush had an uff jump must have been the times someone else would have fallen down- face first.:p

Same to me; I always adored his Axels as well. Just remember that fabulous combo at the Torino Gala. Medusa, you quite forgot about Winnetou and Old Shatterhand concerning the "Uffs"

As we reached the bank, Winnetou took me by the hand and said, “Old Shatterhand has conquered; he and his three companions are free!”

“Uff! Uff! Uff!” cried the Apaches.

^ No, unfortunately I had to Google it. But now I see where we got the idea for the Lone Ranger and his faithful sidekick Tonto. :)

Well I agree with Medusa concerning Plushy's Axel, I think it looks pretty laboured and not as soft as e.g. Johnny's Axel (which I adore!!!) Sure he nails it almost always but still, I wouldn't give any plus GOEs...

Sometimes I wonder where this thread is going to lead us. I can`t help imagining Evgeni`s face while reading it and desperately asking himself what some Apaches have to do with his Axel and if Winnetou and Old Shatterhand are some oldie skaters he doesn`t know. Don`t think they´ve heard about Karl May in Russia. Mathman, is the quote from Winnetou 1?

I actually don't have to say anything, but I just wanted to have three posts in a row, that say location: Germany. Looks so homey!

Let's see, what can I say. Oh yes, I didn't mean to offend anyone who loves Plushenko, I myself like him. I just don't like his Axel, or his Quad. Or is 2006 Olympic performances. I am still a lot more furious at Lambiel and Joubert for handing Plushenko the title.

EDIT: How can you recognise that this post has no reason? I apologised for perhaps offending someone! I normally never do that.

Entire post
OK, it's official. This thread has gone as far off topic as possible. Further off topic than the speculation about Ant's accent, the Harry Potter tie-in, the discussion of Plushy as an X-Men mutant and even the Medusa doll . I'm not sure this can be topped. Maybe the mods should just lock the thread until Plushy actually does something newsworthy (such as get a haircut).
