Men's Short Program.. Tuesday 16th, 7:15PM EST

Is it just me or does Zoltan (which totally makes me do the 'Z' with my hands and shout out 'Zoltan!' a la Dude Where's my Car') look a bit like Brian Joubert from a distance?

On NBC live results, what does the Q beside the top four skaters stand for? Does it mean they have already qualified for the free skate?

OH yeah... have to love the cut out in the padded boards to let tiny coaches talk to skaters, where was that last night when the girls were having to tippy toe to see over!

Amelie again?? OK, i'm not complaining. WOW, I like this version!! Rock on, dude!

Jeez what did plush do to you kill your first born? :rolleye:
LOL I know, right? Evgeni is allowed to speak his mind and talk about his difficulties if he is prompted to tell us about his experience so far during an interview. There is a high chance that all of us here skating our whole lives would still have got our butts wiped on the ice by him. Give the man some credit.

Right. By Plush himself. Nobody could get more than 90.85. Didn`t you know?

Yeah I agree, that is a HUGE score. Verner got an 81 at worlds last year with the same jump layout, and his jumps were probably better too...we will see how the others are scored though, generally at worlds and olympics the scores are on average a bit higher than during the earlier events of the season. Plushy's footwork looked like Morozov footwork - lots of fast arm flapping to distract the audience from the fact that his edges aren't the best. He reminds me of Rothbart from Swan Lake with all that arm flapping LMAO.

Good job though, his arrogance kind of makes me like him better...don't know why.

I was just annoyed by the step sequence; I mean; what was the point of having music there if he just went about it on his own, completely different rhythm

I agree with that criticism. In fact, the music didn't help his performance at all. I think his presentation would have greater impact with more rousing music.

I'm probably one of the few people, but I actually very much agree with Plushenko's comment about the quad. I do feel like it adds a lot more excitement to skating (so do well choreographed programs). If people win with only a triple axel, it seems a bit under-expecting in my opinioin. With most of the men in this competition landing the triple axel, a quad should definitely deserve more points. If we want the sport to move up in terms of jumps, judges should encourage skaters to try it more often. Just my two cents =P.

Where is swine flu when you need it...

Ok, there's not liking someone but talking about crossing the line! Are you out of your mind? People have died from that, on a daily basis and you are wishing it on him for a stupid skating contest? Disgusting!

I agree, and always have. The quad is special for the men's discipline.

Quads are neat, but, I'll take someone with a fanastic 3A and the rest of the stuff over, say, a Kevin Reynolds (before he improved his skating) who would pop a quad then drive me crazy with the rest of the sloppy skating ! But, that's my opinion and everyone else has a different one, I'm a sucker for spins and footwork and huge technically correct jumps!
