2014 Olympics Ladies Free Skate

I think the point they're making is, 90% Koreans... when one of the main "victims" was Korean... doesn't sound impartial: If the judging was really such a travesty, why aren't there equal numbers of figure skating fans from all the other countries signing?

By the way, has anyone actually made an official complaint yet? Because supposedly, that's all it takes to trigger a formal investigation - a petition shouldn't be necessary.

First, no, most people just don't care to stand up against injustice, especially if they are not affected themselves or just from another country. Also, many objective figure skating fans have already given up to still argue about such decisions.

Second, seems that Kim and whoever of the South Korean association are too polite to make an official complaint. They also know that it wouldn't change anything. This doesn't make fighting against this robbery unnecessary though. It is the true fans of the sport who suffer from this result as well, as it has finally destroyed the last hope of justice in judging.

Did 'someone' just say yuna has horrible jumps?? Ridiculous!!! Mind you, yuna has amazing text book jumps especially toe jumps. The take off the speed going into the jump the correct edge she takes off with the height the distance the power the flow of the jump its just magnificent. Okay saying yuna's jumps are horrible is just being delusional!

why trigger investigation, did south korea cry foul when yuna blew short and still won a medal, in 2011 worlds won world after screwing up program./

how about in germany did korea cry foul even though yuna didnt do all jumps but still receive over 130 for her skate in germany.
only when yuna doesn't win do they cry foul.

adelina and gracie tried harder jumps and higher base score than yuna and carolina

i think adelina base was 60.79, gracie was 60.29

yuna 55.90
carolina 55.40 or 55.70
yet yuna got 69.63, carolina got a 68 some
adelina was a bit high 75.54 after her edge takes off just before she took off on 4 of her jumps she change edges and had wonky landings, yuna- had 2 one right in front of judges and 2 wonking landings
carolina kostner landed all her jumps sure and with flow and fluidity
gracie did too except for the fall. her landings and take off was solid.

it seem the judges over look edge call and wonky landings under 6.0 they all had to be fluild and with flow, yet under this system which is suppose to look and how take off and land jumps.
they seem to ignore it which is why i question yulia score in free skate in team event all her landings wasnt sure, solid or with flow, fluidity they seem jerky, contrast that to the individual free skate yulia landings were actually better with more flow fluidity and sure footedness except for her mess and and fall.
yulia landing in individual free was actually better than adelina.

adelina i saw had her trifirst triple triple and the last 4 triples.
yuna had same unsure takeoff her first triple/triple and one in front of judges and one skidded out off
gracies first triple/triple was better than adelina, yuna in take off and landing, frank fixed them

carolina outside of the one skidded she was great, flow, sure footed, fluidy out all her jumps yet her jump score didn't recognize that.

i think skating should have 4 techinal judges sitting around the rink with one judge beside them so no part of rink is unseen. and yes i think it would help if the judges themselves or media stated at the beginning this the base score of all the elements that they can receive and if not
adelina 60.90, gracie, 60.29, yuna 55.90, carolina 55.40, ashley58.
give account not only to skaters but to media as well.

but than again figure skating is down, why not stir up some controversy to get sport notice, problem is there is too much and people, public, media and fans are fed up with it and dont care. they just want it to go away.

fyi--tara michelle did 7 jumps to your 5-6 jumps

johnny you mention moment, you are right about moment, tara won due to moment but alsow usfsa, and judges wanted her to win not michelle, sarah won due to mess up.s

under 6.0 you had to be perfect --new scoring system it isnt about being perfect or in moment but who can come up with the highest score and be the person most of the judges agree should win.

going into individual event it was yulia-russian versus yuna after individual short it was russian--adelina versus yuna.
what got me after short all 3 ladies yuna, adelina, carolina was virtually tied for 1st.\
scott said only adelina could beat yuna not carolina kostner, that left me wondering why.

yuna jumps arent horrible
mind you they seen yuna skate better.
maybe that is why, yuna gold medalist had better flow, fluidity .
everyone seen it. the problem was they didn't see it last night. she skate well, good but not at her best.

i don't think adelina could skate that any better, yet i think and saw yuna skate better , her short was way better than her long. go back in 2010 it was more fluid, flow, better present, i think yuna held back just a bit.
check her shows she showed herself more, last night she was a hair off and it cost her the gold

fyi, great job american ladies you did yourself and america proud

gracie /ashley 3 olympic programs
good skate

gracie 1 fall in 3 olympic programs, great.
ashley good job

polina keep it up, you will do well.

keep fighting, attacking, believing in yourself in 4 years who know.

i see in next 4 years adelina, gracie, yulia will be main ones fighting for medals with
polina, kaeltlyn, other russians battling it out,
i am sorry i didn't see chinese, mae bernice did well in short.

who knows.

From that page:
I also have to wonder how many of those petitioners are from a) automated bots, or b) people who didn't even see the skating...

Right, because Kim Yuna defending her title at the Olympics can draw insane TV ratings of 20-30% in the wee hours on weekdays (SP around 2:30am on Thurs, the FP at 4am on Fri)--and that's not counting the highlight replays at lunchtime and primetime in a nation of 50+million people--but no way can the petitioners number in the millions without "automated bots" and "people who didn't even see the skating." So first let's mock the signatories for a) coming mostly from Korea and b) only hundreds of thousands from outside Korea, then let's discredit it even further by insinuating it must have been rigged!

I didn't sign, but now I'm seriously thinking about it. So now by definition that must make me a Yuna fan too, even though I wasn't inclined to sign initially. Hmm...

@fairly4

In SP, YuNa's BV is higher than Sotnikova.

YuNa
3Lz+3T 10.10
3F 5.30
2A 3.63 x

3Lz+3T 10.10
3F 5.30
3S+2T 5.50
3Lz 6.60
2A+2T+2Lo 7.04
3S 4.62 x
2A 3.63 x
Total 61.84

Sotnikova
3T+3T 8.20
3F 5.30
2A 3.63 x

3Lz+3T 10.10 (Wrong edge. should get -GOE -1~-2 but Judges gave +GOE.)
3F 5.30
3Lo 5.10
2A+3T 8.14 x
3F+2T+2Lo 9.24 x
3S 4.62 x
2A 3.63 x
Total 63.26

the difference is only 1.42 point.
Their PCS is almost same in both SP and FP.
YuNa's step sequence got level 3 in SP and FP and Adelina got level 4 and 1.7 GOE.
This is fixed from the beginnig.YuNa was robbed of gold medal.

It hurts only watching this ceremony. I admire Yu-na more and more. I could not stand there if this had happened to me.

You should avoid that poster if you don't wanna go in circles imo,

You know what, I might be right, But it's mean

I don't wanna argue anymore,

I just wish for recognition from Supportors of Sotnikova's score that a lot of US feel like something reeks here
And it makes some sense based on history and location that there's maybe merit behind it

I think there is a massive overreaction. We all have our favorites as it's normal. We all have our own ideals of skating. We all have preferred styles. But this is looking like the fans of Man City fighting with the Man United fans. It reminds me of the endless discussions about off sides or something like that in soccer and such.
Adelina Sotnikova skated the best she's ever have. The girl got her elements right and skated with heart and soul. Both in the SP and the FS she attacked everything in her programs. Adelina had a higher base value to begin with. Her spins were also better. That gave her a significant advantage.
Yuna is a wonderful skater that has delighted us in the past. But did she really made it in THIS competition comparing with the other girls in the podium. All of a sudden it's like some people wanted the most reputed skater to be on top of the podium. I don't know how to say it better in english. Her layback spin, the landing of the second triple lutz... She didn't even try the triple loop.
Carolina is my favorite of three but we must remember that her technical base value was also lower than Adelina's.
It just strikes me that some people wanted the 6.0 system to be out of the way because it was more subjective and now that we have a Code of points that inspired to emphasize that this is a sport people complain as well. In my humble opinion Adelina's team was clever to built a clear COP program. They did their maths and it payed of.
