2014 Olympics Ladies Free Skate

I don't think she deserved such a big score but I just wanted to say- I really liked Adelina's programs. Her Carmen was fresh and exciting, and I found the 'robot-come-to-life' theme of her free skate clever. She was very committed to the music and really looked like she enjoyed every minute.

No. Carmen, maybe, however it still looked like a girl interpreting something only a WOMAN could do justice to. However, that free program was very... "Russian ladies singles" realness: Tacky, confusing, unrefined, and having nothing to do with the piece of music at all.

It was very Slutskaya-esque, in short. Maybe she should have stood at center ice and dealt some tarot cards.

I watched the medal ceremony and it's hurt so much to see Sotnikova on the top of that podium. Yu-na behave so nicely, with a real class but it was hard to see her on second. I wonder how can she act like she does because she knows it's a robbery, we know it's a robbery, former skaters and analysts know it as well !!!

Definitely yuna showed her own class in the ceremony too, after that, when she interviewed with a korean commentator who congratulated on her and told yuna that she was the best, she suddenly bursted into tears saying " i'm not crying because of the result. Just because i feel so relieved and i can retire with no regrets." That was so heartbreaking.

Even if she says she accepted it I'm sure she is very disappointed, her performance was so beautiful and despite what people say (that she didn't bring her A game) she performed with heart and can pe proud of that

This is an excellent article explaining the math behind Sotnikova's win. I do believe she was overscored in PCS but she still deserved the win GIVEN the system we now have in place:

http://www.icenetwork.com/news/2014/02/21/68062776/checking-the-math-should-sotnikova-have-won

The article doesn't explain how the math got there. So skating in front of a home crowd suddenly brings you 9.0s? Why was her score higher than Asada's, who had a more technically difficult program?

Yuna's pcs in Vancouver were 71.76 and Sotnikova's here were 74.41. That means Sotnikova just outscored in tearms of artistry ONE OF THE MOST (IF NOT THE MOST) MEMORABLE AND BEAUTIFUL PROGRAMS EVER !!!! IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE ??!!

This is the wife of the Russian general director Valentin pissef as a judge... Hugging Adelina after the competition...

http://www.instiz.net/bbs/list.php?id=pt&no=1849028&page=1&page_num=17

This says it all... Why yuna and other skaters got such low and strict GOEs... While adelina got massive GOEs where not suited...

There's photos of Davis/White hugging the American technical controller after the win. And Hanyu was called over for a nice chat while the Japanese judge was still in the booth after his Olympic win . All these judges are seen as part of the team. This particular judge has Never been outside of the corridor. And she actually may have more freedom to go outside of the box, because she's not afraid of losing her job.

No obviously it's not possible. Total joke, they are just making up storylines out of thin air to justify outright fraud.

From now on we need to hold journalists, former skaters, etc. accountable. Especially the people connected to the figure skating world. Drop the PC crap and call a spade a spade, otherwise you are just condoning and perpetuating the cheating. Grow up and be a freakin adult already.

Worlds will be very interesting.

Mao at home VS Adelina and Yulia.

I presume Carolina will not go, just as Yuna. Hope I am wrong. I'd love to see Carolina compete to end up her career with the final medal.

Yuna came out of it as a WORLD CHAMPION in 2009, TOO!!!

Ridiculous.

maybe adelina will turn pro by next month like some of the other olympic ladies champs.

why people ignore the SHORT program!!!! yuna did 3lutz-3toe. Sotnikova did 3T-3T, the easiest 3-3combi. AND yuna did 3lutz-3toe with great quality also. and level 3 step??? plz explain the reason why yuna got level 3 and sotnikova got level4 in both program, and total gap is just 0.2x in SHORT program...just ridiculous!! Don't tell me that yuna was not fully motivated and looked unimpressive blah blah blah....Besids the PCS, I want to know all the MATH things about 2 performances clearly( not one free progrma only). AND WHY sotnikova didn't get WRONG edge in her 3lutz-3toe ???her 3toe also looked prerotated too and she got 1.0 goe on 3flutz-3toe<??? This is so wrong:mad:

I really can't believe you have no problems with the Russian oriented judging in this event. It would speak to fairness for judges to have minimal interests in the outcome of big events like the Olympics. But I guess you don't really value fair competitions if you truly believe that there are no issues with the composition of the judging panel yesterday. It's sad because I used to respect you as a poster.

Mao never got very high score at home, I think the judging is pretty neutral in Japan. Hope she will do well and win the gold medal :agree:
