The Personal Best and Season Best scores that the ISU uses for a skater only take into consideration certain competitions. For example, they do not take into consideration domestic competitions, such as Sectional, Regional or National Championships.

The table below takes into consideration all the events that the skater has taken part in. These scores are referred to as “Absolute Personal Best” and “Absolute Season’s Best” so as to distinguish them from the scores recorded by the ISU.

Absolute Season’s Best Score

The Absolute designations are based purely on the contents of the Competitive History table in this post. If anybody knows of any scores that are not in the table, please let us know, and we will be only too happy to add them in.

There are two skaters representing Cyprus at the ISU International Adult Competition in Oberstdorf this week.

Liubov Savinovskaya, who has been representing Cyprus in Adult Skating for at least 9 seasons, is competing at Silver III level.

Natalia Novoselova Stylianou, who has been representing Cyprus in Adult Skating for at least 2 seasons, is competing at Silver II level.

Unfortunately, there are no Time Schedule PDF's for each competition. However, there is a Provisional Time Schedule for the whole event that was published a month ago. So here is the link to it:

https://storage.tramino.net/eissportzentrum/1249948/schedule-isu-adult-competition-2023.pdf

Liubov starts her campaign today, while Natalia starts her campaign tomorrow.

The Silver Ladies III Artistic Free Skate is due to start today at 18:20:00 CEST (16:20:00 GMT / 17:20:00 BST / 19:20:00 EEST / 19:20:00 MSK). So 10 hours from now.

Liubov will be the 8th skater to start.

And that is as much as I am able to tell you at the moment, as the Time Schedule links take you to 404 error pages.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

ISU International Adult Competition Silver Ladies III Artistic FS: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Liubov finished 4th out of 23 in the Artistic FS, with a score of 11.67.

Unfortunately, the Protocols do not go into details of what the skaters actually did on the ice.

My goodness! Liubov was so unlucky not to win a medal. Not only was she exactly two points behind the winner, but she actually had the same Total Segment Score as Regina HACHENBERG (DEU). But Regina got the 🥉 Bronze Medal on the tiebreak.

I think the reason the results went the way they did is that Regina's Programme Components Score was actually a point higher than Liubov's. But, Regina had a 1 point deduction for a time violation, which brought her TSS down to the same as Liubov's.

Liubov (and Regina) finished 0.33 points behind 2nd position, Sara REDIN (DEN), and 0.09 points ahead of 5th position, Katarzyna KONOPACKA (POL) and 6th position, Maureen CARRIGAN (USA). So, two pairs of tied scores in a row!

It was actually a very close field, with just 4.51 points covering 22 of the 23 skaters. And even the skater in 23rd position, Heidi SALIH (USA) was only 5.83 points behind the winner, Monika ZIOBROWSKA (POL).

So, although she will no doubt be a bit disappointed to miss out on a medal, Liubov should be delighted to finish in the Top 5 of what was a very close field.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

The Silver Ladies III Free Skate is due to start today at 16:35:00 CEST (14:35:00 GMT / 15:35:00 BST / 17:35:00 EEST / 17:35:00 MSK). So 9 hours from now.

Liubov will be the 15th skater to start. So, first skater to go in Group 3.

And that is as much as I am able to tell you at the moment, as the Time Schedule links take you to 404 error pages.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

ISU International Adult Competition Silver Ladies III FS: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Liubov finished 1st out of 20 in the FS, with a score of 38.89.

Looking at the Protocols, depending on how you look at it, either the first element or the last element was her best!

She started off with a Change Foot Combination Spin. This got the highest GOE of the programme at +0.33, and also the highest Judges marks, with two Judges giving ); and three Judges giving +2.

Next she did her combination, a Single Salchow-Half Loop-Single Salchow. This got GOE of +0.02, and Judges scores of -1 from Judge 2; two 0's; and two +1's.

This was followed by a Single Lutz, which got a slightly better GOE of +0.04. The Judges scores were largely the same, except that Judge 1, who gave 0 for the combination, gave +1 for the Lutz.

The fourth and sixth elements, the Single Flip and Single Loop, were the only elements that got negative GOE, with both being given -0.02. Because they also had the same Base Value, 0.50, this meant they also got the same score, 0.48 points. The Judges marks were slightly different, though. The Flip got two -1's; two 0's; and +1 from Judge 1. The Loop got two -1's; and three 0's.

In between, Liubov did a Sit Spin. This got the joint second highest GOE of the programme, at +0.17. It also got 0 from Judge 3; +1 from the first two Judges; and +2 from the last two Judges.

The final element, the Choreographic Sequence, actually got the same GOE as the Sit Spin, +0.17. But, because it had the highest Base Value of the programme, it was the highest scoring element, at 3.17 points. The Judges gave it three 0's; and two +1's.

Liubov finished 0.62 points ahead of 2nd position, Michiko HAYASHI (JPN), and 1.19 points ahead of 3rd position, Tammy COWAN (NZL). All three were part of a larger group where 7 skaters were covered by 2.35 points, stretching down to Claudia GRÄB (DEU).

After only finding out about Liubov a few weeks ago, I am delighted that she has won a 🥇 Gold Medal in the first Adult Skating event that I have followed.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

With the ISU International Adult Competition starting today, I have now posted full profiles for Liubov SAVINOVSKAYA and Natalia NOVOSELOVA STYLIANOU:

Natalia NOVOSELOVA STYLIANOU

Unfortunately, Natalia is not competing in Oberstdorf this year. But Liubov is.

According to the Provisional Time Schedule PDF that was published just over 4 weeks ago, Liubov will be doing her Artistic Free Skate today, and her Free Skate on Tuesday. However, I do not have a final time schedule. So, I cannot give you a definite start time for the Silver III Ladies Artistic FS, or a start time for Liubov. All I can say is:

The Provisional schedule estimated that the Silver III Ladies Artistic FS would start at approximately 17:40 CEST (15:40 GMT / 16:40 BST / 18:40 MSK). So 6h 30m from now.

Liubov will be the 19th skater to start. So, sixth and penultimate skater to go in Group 4 (and penultimate skater to go in the competition).

Liubov finished 2nd out of 20 in the Artistic FS, with a score of 13.17.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

I was hoping that she would keep the same Artistic FS programme as last season. "Zorba" always goes down well!

Unfortunately, her hand also went down during a choreographic slide. But, otherwise, I didn't spot any issues.

You could see she was enjoing herself out there.

Big crowd with her. Don't know who they all are. One was wearing a French team jacket, so probably friends she has made on the competition circuit.

She goes into 2nd position.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Liubov finished the Artistic Free Skate 0.08 points behind 1st position, Nataliia GONCHAROVA (UKR), and 0.17 points ahead of 3rd position, Elizabeth KOSHKA (CAN). The three of them are at the top of a group where 4 skaters are covered by 0.58 points, which is completed by Katarzyna KONOPACKA (POL) in 4th position, 0.50 points behind Liubov.

I know that these Artistic FS competitions do tend to be close because they are based purely on the Programme Component Score. Hey, the whole field in this competition was covered by just 4.00 points. But, Liubov was so close to winning the Artistic FS title at this event for the second time. (The previous time she won it was in 2018).

The question now is: after winning the title in the normal Free Skate for the first time last season, will she retain it?

I hope so!

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

Liubov finished 5th out of 22 in the FS, with a score of 31.28.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

Very pale blue dress. It's not far off being able to blend in with the ice.

Lovely spins in the early stages of the programme.

Thought she was going to get her legs tangled in her first combination jump. But she made it through it.

Individual jump went better.

Sit spin lovely.

No major issues with the next few elements.

And finishes with a hydroblade.

I'm nearly sure I've seen that guy in the grey Cyprus hoodie somewhere before. Or else he looks like somebody.

She goes into 2nd position.

Round of applause from everybody sitting in the results area. Including Liubov!

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Liubov finished the Free Skate 1.28 points behind 4th position, Nilüfer ERDEBIL (CAN), and 0.18 points ahead of 6th position, Cathy LYND (CAN). Again, like in the Artistic FS, the whole field was very close, with the only gap greater than 2 points being between the skaters in penultimate and last positions. So, if we instead use a gap of greater than 1 point denoting groups, then Liubov and Cathy were in a group together. But, they were both still less than 3.30 points behind the winner. Galiya KLINKOVA (DEU) in 1st position was just 3.11 points ahead of Liubov.

Although she did not take away any 🥇 Gold Medals this year, Liubov should be pleased with how close her scores were to the winner in both of her competitions. Plus, she is taking home a 🥈 Silver Medal in the Artistic FS

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

The new season may officially start in two days time, but the old season isn't quite over yet. Two of the skaters frm Cyprus are in action today and tomorrow.

As ever, Liubov and Natalia are competing in the ISU International Adult Competition in Oberstdorf. But, I think this is the first time that they are skating directly against each other in the same competitions.

The Silver III Ladies Artistic FS is due to start at 17:50:00 CEST (15:50:00 GMT / 16:50:00 BST / 18:50:00 EEST / 18:50:00 MSK). So 10 hours from now.

Liubov will be the 7th skater to start. So, first skater to go in Group 2.

Natalia will be the 18th skater to start. So, fifth skater to go in Group 3.

And that is as much as I can tell you because the Time Schedule PDF's are not working,

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

Liubov finished 1st out of 27 in the Artistic FS, with a score of 12.42.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch the action from Oberstdorf due to there being MotoGP and Formula 1 rounds on. However, by sheer good luck, Liubov was doing her programme in the few minutes between the Formula 1 coverage finishing and me going to have my evening meal.

Here is what I wrote about her in the competition thread when she was being introduced:

I wasn't expecting to be able to watch either of my "kids" (that are older than me) today, but the way it has worked out I will be able to watch the first of them LIVE before eating.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Here is what I wrote about her programme:

Oooh, I love the headwear.

And I love the music too! (Now I'm trying to remember who I last saw skating to it...)

It's been a while since I last saw Liubov. But, she was as good as I remembered!

A lot of support with her. I like the Cyprus fleece the guy sitting next to her is wearing.

She goes into the lead. And is getting emotonal.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Liubov finished the Free Skate 0.25 points ahead of 2nd position, Claudia GRÄB (DEU), and 0.92 points ahead of 3rd position, Regina HACHENBERG (DEU). All three of them are at the top of a group of 27 skaters covered by 5.26 points, stretching down to Cheryl GOMES (USA) in 27th position.

Yes, you got it. The entire field was covered by just 5.26 points. What a tight competition! And Liubov came out on top.

Looking at the Competitive History table in her OP, Liubov moved from Class II to Class III after the 2014-15 Season. So, I think this is Liubov's final event competing in Class III before moving into Class IV.

It would be a lovely way to sign off from 10 years in Class III if Liubov were to get double 🥇 Gold Medals.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIUBOV!!! :cheer:

The Silver III Ladies FS is due to start at 19:15:00 CEST (17:15:00 GMT / 18:15:00 BST / 20:15:00 EEST / 20:15:00 MSK). So 12 hours from now.

Liubov will be the 9th skater to start. So, second skater to go in Group 2.

And that is as much as I can tell you because the Time Schedule PDF's are not working,

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Hope this helps
