The Personal Best and Season Best scores that the ISU uses for a skater only take into consideration certain competitions. For example, they do not take into consideration domestic competitions, such as Sectional, Regional or National Championships.

The table below takes into consideration all the events that the skater has taken part in. These scores are referred to as “Absolute Personal Best” and “Absolute Season’s Best” so as to distinguish them from the scores recorded by the ISU.

The Absolute designations are based purely on the contents of the Competitive History table in this post. If anybody knows of any scores that are not in the table, please let us know, and we will be only too happy to add them in.

There are two skaters representing Cyprus at the ISU International Adult Competition in Oberstdorf this week.

Liubov Savinovskaya, who has been representing Cyprus in Adult Skating for at least 9 seasons, is competing at Silver III level.

Natalia Novoselova Stylianou, who has been representing Cyprus in Adult Skating for at least 2 seasons, is competing at Silver II level.

Unfortunately, there are no Time Schedule PDF's for each competition. However, there is a Provisional Time Schedule for the whole event that was published a month ago. So here is the link to it:

https://storage.tramino.net/eissportzentrum/1249948/schedule-isu-adult-competition-2023.pdf

Liubov is not the only skater representing Cyprus in action today. Natalia will be starting her campaign a little later in the day.

The Silver Ladies II Artistic Free Skate is due to start today at 19:10:00 CEST (17:10:00 GMT / 18:10:00 BST / 20:10:00 EEST / 20:10:00 MSK). So 11 hours from now.

Natalia will be the 4th skater to start. So fourth skater in Group 1.

And that is as much as I am able to tell you at the moment, as the Time Schedule links take you to 404 error pages.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Here is the link for the livestream (€5 per day):

ISU International Adult Competition Silver Ladies II Artistic FS: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Natalia finished 6th out of 19 in the Artistic FS, with a score of 11.84.

Unfortunately, the Protocols do not go into details of what the skaters actually did on the ice.

Natalia finished 0.16 points behind 5th position, Lenka SEMBEROVA (CZE), and 0.01 points ahead of 5th position, Paola GRAZIA (FRA).

Like with the Silver Ladies III category, it was a very close competition, with the entire field covered by exactly 4 points.

Although I haven't come across as many results for Natalia as I have for Liubov, Natalia seems to get better positions in the "normal" FS than she does in the Artistic FS. So, with that in mind, she is looking good for today!

:cheer: WELL DONE NATALIA!!! :cheer:

The Silver Ladies II Free Skate is due to start today at 19:55:00 CEST (17:55:00 GMT / 18:55:00 BST / 20:55:00 EEST / 20:55:00 MSK). So 12 hours from now.

Natalia will be the 8th skater to start. So, second skater to go in Group 2.

And that is as much as I am able to tell you at the moment, as the Time Schedule links take you to 404 error pages.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Natalia finished 5th out of 24 in the FS, with a score of 33.05.

Looking at the Protocols, there is not actually much variation. Apart from the Choreographic Sequence, which got by far the highest GOE, all her elements got GOE of between 0.00 and 0.10. Indeed, four of her elements got neutral GOE. And apart from a single -2 for her Combination, all the Judges marks were either 0 or +1.

Her first element (Single Lutz), fourth element (Single Toe) and final element (Single Loop), got 0's all round, both in terms of GOE and Judges marks. And were it not for that aforementioned -2 from Judge 2, her sixth element (the Single Flip-Half Loop-Single Salchow combination) would have made it four completely neutral elements.

Her second element was a Change Foot Combination Spin, and it got the second highest GOE of the programme, at +0.10. As it also had the second highest Base Value of the programme, at 1.50 points, it was also the second highest scoring element. It also got the second highest set of Judges marks, with 0's from Judges 1 and 2; and 1's from the remaining three Judges.

The Single Flip that followed got +0.05 in GOE. But, it did do one better in terms of Judges marks, receiving 0 from Judge 1; and 1's from the four remaining Judges.

Jumping forward to her fifth element, the Choreographic Sequence, this earned by far the highest GOE, at +0.33. As this also was also the element with the highest Base Value, at 3.00 points, it was the highest scoring element. As for the Judges, they gave it two 0's; and three +1's.

Her seventh element, the Sit Spin, actually got exactly the same Judges marks as the Choreographic sequence. For GOE, it got the third highest, at +0.07.

Natalia finished 0.66 points behind 4th position, Lindsey WISEMAN (GBR), and 0.71 points ahead of 6th position, Barbara STELE (ITA). All three were part of a larger group where 17 skaters were covered by 6.99 points, stretching from Tatiana RHODE (DEU) in 3rd position, 1.06 points ahead of Natalia, to Julia WIES (DEU) in 19th position, 5.93 points behind Natalia.

In a group this large and this tight, a few minuses on the Protocols could easily have led to Natalia finishing well down the order. So, I am very happy that things went so well for her, and that she finished in the Top 5 instead.

:cheer: WELL DONE NATALIA!!! :cheer:

The new season may officially start in two days time, but the old season isn't quite over yet. Two of the skaters frm Cyprus are in action today and tomorrow.

As ever, Liubov and Natalia are competing in the ISU International Adult Competition in Oberstdorf. But, I think this is the first time that they are skating directly against each other in the same competitions.

The Silver III Ladies Artistic FS is due to start at 17:50:00 CEST (15:50:00 GMT / 16:50:00 BST / 18:50:00 EEST / 18:50:00 MSK). So 10 hours from now.

Liubov will be the 7th skater to start. So, first skater to go in Group 2.

Natalia will be the 18th skater to start. So, fifth skater to go in Group 3.

And that is as much as I can tell you because the Time Schedule PDF's are not working,

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

Natalia finished 21st out of 27 in the Artistic FS, with a score of 9.50.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch the action from Oberstdorf due to there being MotoGP and Formula 1 rounds on. However, by sheer good luck, when I checked how things were getting on just after finishing eating my evening meal, the skater on directly before Natalia was getting her scores.

Here is what I wrote about her in the competition thread when she was being introduced:

Phew. Came to check where we were in proceedings, and I arrived just in time.

This is the first time I am going to see Natalia competing in Class III. And the first time seeing her and Liubov going head to head.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST NATALIA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Here is what I wrote about her programme:

Mmmmm. I wonder. Did Natalia by any chance watch the video I made for Giorgia's 18th birthday? Because she was skating to the music that I used for it - the instrumental version of "Arabian Nights" from Disney's "Aladdin".

She was wearing a beautiful pale blue dress just like Princess Jasmine wore in the film.

A beautiful skate. I really enjoyed that.

She has a lot of support too. Liubov is sitting at the end of the sofa. I wonder if the guy sitting next to Natalia is her husband. He's definitely Cypriot anyway.

She goes into 13th position.

:cheer: WELL DONE NATALIA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Natalia finished the Free Skate 0.09 points behind of 20th position, Lisa CHATTERSON-ELLEY (CAN), and 0.42 points ahead of 22nd position, Sara REDIN (DEN). All three of them are at the top of a group of 27 skaters covered by 5.26 points, stretching from Liubov SAVINOVSKAYA (CYP) in 1st position, 2.92 points ahead of Natalia, down to Cheryl GOMES (USA) in 27th position, 2.34 points behind Natalia.

Yes, you got it. The entire field was covered by just 5.26 points. What a tight competition! So, although Natalia is probably disappointed with her position, she should be happy to be only 2.34 points behind her team-mate, who has 10 years experience in Class III.

Not bad for somebody who has only just moved into Class III.

:cheer: WELL DONE NATALIA!!! :cheer:

The Silver III Ladies FS is due to start at 19:15:00 CEST (17:15:00 GMT / 18:15:00 BST / 20:15:00 EEST / 20:15:00 MSK). So 12 hours from now.

Natalia will be the 26th skater to start. So, fourth skater to go in Group 4.

And that is as much as I can tell you because the Time Schedule PDF's are not working,

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

:cheer: HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY NATALIA!!! :cheer:

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

I hope you are having an enjoyable day, and that the coming year is a good one for you, both on and off the ice.

I like Natalia. Any time I have seen her competing, she has always looked like she is thoroughly enjoying herself out there.

Although I have known about Adult Skating for a long time, it was not something that I actively followed until recently. And Natalia is a large part of the reason I started watching. When I saw two skaters from Cyprus entered in the Adult Competition at Oberstdorf a few years ago, I was curious to see what they were like, and decided to watch. And I was converted.

I love the cameraderie that exists in Adult Skating. You know the way I love watching events in Estonia, because of the way the very young skaters all come out to support each other. Well, it is exactly the same in Adult skating. Except that the skaters are that little bit older.

Because Adult skating competitions are even less publicised than elite figure skating competitions, I have no idea when Natalia will be back in action. But, I am looking forward to seeing her again.

And Natalia's birthday brings an end to a month in which so many of the skaters that are currently representing Cyprus had a milestone birthday.

Anyway, I hope that Natalia has a great birthday.
