17th Tirnavia Ice Cup | Oct 31 - Nov 2

Oh, I hope this goes well for my kid. With how this season has gone so far, she needs a boost to her confidence.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST LIZA!!! :cheer:

Liza wearing a gorgeous burgundy dress.

More industrial sounding music.

Hang on, is this a tango? 💃

Beautiful sequence of jumps to start with.

And the individual jump was beautiful too.

And the next combination jump too!

Beautiful jump followed by beautiful spin.

Beautiful Choreographic Sequence.

Ach, popped a jump.

And then fell on the next one.

But made up for it with the three jump combination, and the Change Foot Combination Spin that followed.

And the rest was beautiful.

She had a dodgy patch at the start of the second half, but otherwise that was brilliant!!!

Once I got used to the more industrial music than we are used to for this type of programme, I absolutely loved that programme!!!

She looks like a rabbit in the headlights waiting for her scores.

Just as a side note, she won Senior Ladies at the first round of the Cup Of Israel earlier in the week. In the FS on Tuesday, she scored 88.67 points. And her overall score was 136.21 points. The other girl entered withdrew between the SP and the FS.

Today she scored 93.32 in the FS, and 137.97 overall.

Well, after the disaster skate she had on Tuesday, it is great to see her have a good skate today.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

Julia GRABOWSKI (DEU) was wearing a blue dress that started off light at the top and got darker as you went down.

Loved the music. You can't beat a bit of Tchaikovsky.

Unfortunately, she made a few mistakes.

Mmmm. Julia was futtering at her boot when the announcer came on with the scores. She started reading out the FS score "68 point...", and Julia looked up with an expression that said "eh?!" And then the announcer stopped, and said "Sorry. 78 point..."

She goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

Terézia PÓCSOVÁ (SVK) kicked off the final group of the event with a very dark programme. Aha! It is "Phantom Of The Opera", but not the usual pieces of music or cuts.

She was wearing a dress where the front part was dark red, but the sleeves, shoulders and skirt were black. And a Michael Jackson-esque single white glove.

That was very different. And very enjoyable. I bet even those that are fed up with "Phantom" programmes and want them banned would enjoy it.

Well done to her choreographer, Romana Lampartová, for taking a warhorse and coming up with something completely original!  :points:

Aww, when she was waiting for her scores, the camera cut to two kids in the audience who were dancing along to the music being played in the arena.

She goes into 2nd position ion both the FS and overall.

I just looked at the FS results table, and noticed that everybody so far has had one fall.

Chiara MINIGHINI (ITA) continued that trend.

She was wearing a grey dress, and skating to lovely music. I don't know the film, but all the pieces were from "Good Bye Lenin".

Fall aside, that was beautiful.

Minighini was the last of the skaters that I thought my kid Liza Gervits could potentially overtake. But, I think this is the point where Liza's climb ends. After this skate, Chiara should stay ahead of her.

She doesn't! Chiara goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

Eve DUBECQ (FRA) was wearing a grey jumpsuit with black areas (including an unfortunately positioned one over the crotch area, that makes it look like she has peed herself).

Beautiful music.

Fall on the first element. But apart from that, it was great!

She was still visibly disappointed when she finished, though.

And there ends my kid Liza's climb up the order.

Eve goes into the lead of both the FS and overall.

Nina POVEY (GBR) was wearing a dress that had beautiful sky blue shoulders and skirt part, and was completely illusion mesh in between.

She was taking a leaf out of Chock / Bates' book. So many different pieces of music! :drama: But, they did work together.

Not a good start. Popped first jump. And fell on the next.

But the rest of it was beautiful.

She wasn't that much ahead of Eve DUBECQ (FRA) in the SP, so I think Nina will drop into 2nd behind her both overall and in the FS. I don't think she will drop back far enough to let my kid onto the podium.

And that is exactly what has happened. Nina goes into 2nd position in both the FS and overall.

Lorine SCHILD (FRA) was wearing parts of a beautiful burgundy dress that have been tied together.

Ach, it was looking like she was going to be the first skater in this competition to not have a fall!

Well, strictly speaking, although it looked like a full-blown fall, only her hands touched the ice. So it might be classed as a double hands-down. It'll be interesting to see if she gets a deduction or not.

Either way, she's going to win. Because the rest of it was so good, and she had a decent lead from the SP.

She does. By a country mile in both the FS and overall!

Oh, and to tie up loose ends (just like her dress!), she did get a 1 point deduction.

Ah, we got a shot of the announcer at the end of the competition. She's pretty!

And seeing how well wrapped up she is confirms my suspicions that it is cold!

The stream is still on air, so I wonder if we are going to get Podium Ceremonies.

There isn't a Gala later, is there?

The stream has ended now.
